Surprisingly fun
The course is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and I hadn’t played there in 35 years, so I basically considered it my first time playing again. My wife and I scheduled for Labor Day, not really knowing what to expect as far as how crowded it would be. It wasn’t overly crowded, and when the 4-some we were playing behind decide to stop after 9, we got around the back 9 pretty quickly. It as pretty standard length from the white tees, though a few par 3’s are a bit longer, and one par 5 on the back played 625 yards into a breeze. I scored just a bit below my normal handicap and my wife had her best score and lowest amount of putts since she started playing 3 years ago. For the limited amount of rain, the course was still in half-decent shape, better than the regular course I play. The greens were a little slower than I’m used to, but both my wife and I putted better than normal. All in all, we enjoyed our round and would go back again. Now if someone would open the restaurant/bar, it would really be a nice place, because the facility looks quite nice, practically new. The club PRO was helpful and shared a bit of the history with us-very friendly guy. If you are ever in the East Juniata area, stop in and play a round.
Course was in great shape under the drought circumstances.
Staff was friendly, no grass to be found
The greens were in fair shape but there wasn't a bit of grass more then 10 feet off of them. Really rough shape was disappointing but the service by the staff made up for it.
Great course
Great course to play challenging and fun. Got some really good bounces but could be due to the drought conditions
fun day of golfing
The weather was perfect. The pace of play was very good, considering that they were busy that day.
fun day of golfing
The course was in good condition. The pace of play was excellent. We picked a great time to play. We wanted to eat in the restaurant when we were finished playing golf, but unfortunately, it wasn't open. We ate there before and liked the food and the service.
Conditions improving
Conditions much improved. New/returning golf pro/manager(Shawn Burchfield) has returned after a few years away & has already made a difference. After talking with Shawn after my round, he seems to have solid ideas to continue improving the golf experience at Lost Creek.
Eh
So driving range was non operational staff was friendly nice layout of the course. However maintenance was terrible. Bunkers had enough water in them to have tadpoles growing and grass hadn't been cut in a while. Fairways we're so overgrown and covered in brown clumps of grass clippings you couldn't find your ball unless you were right on top of it or stepped on them. Real shame course has a beautiful layout and lots of potential if only maintenance was done
Tried to call several times as it was raining in morning and we figured it would be sloppy. Still no answer up to 10 am so I cancelled in line due to weather. Will I see my deposit back?
Your fairways are wide!
When I first arrived, the staff was friendly but clearly understaff as there was no toilet paper and no open restroom doors when I first arrived at 11:00 AM. The course was very wet but lots of rain two days before o it doesn’t drain well. Loved the beautiful scenery though!
