Great Golf in the Woods
I recently had the opportunity to play at Hunter's Station in Pennsylvania. The course is off the beaten track for sure. But i have to say it was worth the effort.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The Owner took the time to walk out to the carts to give me a brief tour before i started. The course is two very different sides. The front nine is a mountain course with BIG views and wide vistas. Tough angles and penalties for wayward tee shots. The back is along the river, flat and somewhat easier. the greens were well kept and rolled true. Cart was clean. food at the turn was very good. I had a blast and will return with friends.
Only course close, if you must swing, OK
Basic course in poor condition. Partly due to little maintenance and partly bc of new bridge construction by PA DOT.
Front 9 is hard, looks like it was hacked thru woods. Local knowledge required at this target golf 9. Back easier, however bridge construction has made it short.
Great views especially in fall of year.
