Eagle Pass Golf Course

About
Set along the Mexican border, this rugged, flat course dates back to the 1940s. If you're passing through town and have the urge, it's worth your while to walk the course and take in the scenery. Play as many holes as you like, because the minimal green fee allows you to play all day and there are two sets of tees that allow for an 18-hole round.
The opening hole is the only par 3 (191 yards). The remaining eight holes consist of seven par 4s and a par 5 that measures only 469 yards. If you're driving well and feeling confident, flail away at the 278- yard par 4 finishing hole, which is the easiest on the course.
Getting there : On Hwy 277 going south, turn right on Main St. in the city. Drive to Bliss Street and turn right, where you will see the entrance on the right side of the street.

Confused
The course underwent some changes due to the fencing at the border and a fallen bridge. Navigating from hole to hole was a little confusing due to the bridge and a tournament the next day. The tees were a bit shaggy, fairways a bit on the rough side and greens patchy in places. Not a terrible deal for the price, but a cart is useful and extra.
Eagle Pass GC
9 hole course with separate tee boxes for the back 9. Lots of water hazards, but no sand traps. Fairways can get a little overgrown if not cut recently. Greens need to be improved.
Staff is very friendly and they have a decent collection of snacks and beverages. Overall, an okay course for being on the border.
