Stansbury Park Golf Course
This golf course is located about 15 minutes west of Salt Lake City. As a whole the course is a tough challenge. Several holes require drives and/or second shots to be placed between water hazards on both sides of the fairway. Most of the par threes require a carry over water.
The greens tend to be fast and the ground hard which allows shots to roll on that land just in front of the greens. The course is always in good shape although there's a few patches of ratty grass.
The course layout is built in the middle of a housing development. There is nothing natural -- everything was designed and built. The course is flat with many lateral ponds as the main hazards. One good point is that the course side houses do not encroach upon the course like many housing development golf courses and OB rarely comes into play.
The course is usually open early in the season (February) and closes late (November). There is a small driving range and a practice green. The pro shop staff and the locals are friendly.

They should pay us to play
We haven’t been to this course in over 20 years. Decided we would play since we thought the rate was pretty good. Sorry to say, it was in horrible shape. The greens had dead spots everywhere, the fairways too and the rough, the grass was so long, if you hit your ball in it, it was gone! Too bad they have not kept it up.
The course had a good lay out and the fairways were nice. Some of the greens were in rough shape. The staff was very friendly. The pace of play was great, we never felt rushed. Overall it was a great round of golf.
Good round. Drought conditions
Stansbury Park GC is a popular community golf course with a steady regular customer base, and it provides a fun, challenging experience; however, due to the current drought, the course is in tough circumstances as witnessed by the greens, tee boxes, fairways, and the rough; the greens have a heavy yellowing with dry patches which is also evident on the tee boxes and fairways which affect how to play the course, and the sand traps are also affected by a lack of regular attention; additionally, we witnessed an 8-some (4 carts) playing a few holes behind us as well as a 5-some in front of us; it was an enjoyable round, but course conditions did make the play more challenging, in a less appealing manner.
18-hole, 6-person, Sunday hack-a-thon
Stansbury Park GC is a fun, challenging course, and this round was my second round of the weekend and third round in consecutive weekends; I really enjoy the course which has a very friendly and welcoming staff, but this round was not typical from my experience; the community supports it well as witnessed by the 13-cart waiting line at the #1 tee box when we arrived; we realized we would have a slower round, but when we counted five golfers in three carts, we figured our 3-some would be allowed through them which never happened; after another errant (common) tee shot on hole #3 that crossed the #8 fairway, the entire group (3 carts; 5 people) went to help find the golf ball which was well over the general 3-minute time allotted, but the weird thing is another single joined the group to help locate the lost ball (never found) and then continued playing the remaining 16-holes slowing the pace even more, and the men were playing the blue tees rather than the white tees while the two women played the red tees but should play from even closer tees which aren’t available; the frustrating part is that the Marshall was near the #3 green and watched us waiting excessively behind the 6-person group, but he said nothing to them; that is when I realized we were behind locals, and we were not going to get through; I enjoy the course but will definitely avoid Sunday rounds which I attribute this debacle to; fun, challenging course that needs some water and TLC, but needs a Marshal to keep the pace of play acceptable
Love this course
Great course, friendly and courtious staff!!!! I definitely recommend going here!
Good spring round for a dry season
The course hasn’t had water available so the tee boxes and greens are fairly dry and firm: the fairways were better, but the rough was quite thick and difficult to play out of with the recent weather; the pace of place was somewhat slow, but it was the first good spring weather day for golf, so many folks were out; the course is a fun course, and as the season progresses, I am sure the greens, tee boxes, and fairways will be back to their normal quality we have come to expect.
Good early spring round
Stansbury Park GC was a refreshing challenge with firm fairways and greens but thick rough; as the season progresses, I look forward to playing the course; the staff is very friendly, but the pace of place was slower than expected in the front 9 but improved in the back 9.
Good weekday course to work on your game
86 degree weather under perfect skies. We played from the Blue (back) tees at 6,779 yards. Slope is 70.8/122.
First time I have played the course since Fall 2016. There have been improvements, specifically the pond between the 2nd and 8th fairways. It looks to be rebuilt. It is surrounding by laid sod that is struggling to find it's growth.
This course is easy to get on, relatively affordable, and sits within an old residential development. Greens are bigger, some are sloped, very little undulations. Fairways are wide and are in the best condition that I have seen them in over ten years. The greens have damage from animals, dry spots, and non-repaired pitch marks. The last is difficult to fathom as most players at this course are local residents who pay a "member" fee annually. They need to patrol their course more.
Staff is great. Same old good people in the shop. Snacks are available as is beer.
I will play this course a couple of times a month.
Revisit Stansbury Park Golf Course
The course didn't have our tee time we made with golfnow, however; they were able to get us right out.
It's been years and years since I have played this course. The fairways are in pretty good shape, but getting off the fairway you have heavy crabgrass. Makes it difficult to find and hit your ball. A few of the 'hard' sand traps didn't have rakes. The putting greens in fair to good condition. A good pace - we were done in 4hrs. Lots of water! It was good to revisit this course, will probably try to get out there again. The price is right!
It is early spring and the course was not in great condition. The green were in poor condition.
The rest of the course was good shape for early spring.
