Stansbury Park Golf Course

About
This golf course is located about 15 minutes west of Salt Lake City. As a whole the course is a tough challenge. Several holes require drives and/or second shots to be placed between water hazards on both sides of the fairway. Most of the par threes require a carry over water.
The greens tend to be fast and the ground hard which allows shots to roll on that land just in front of the greens. The course is always in good shape although there's a few patches of ratty grass.
The course layout is built in the middle of a housing development. There is nothing natural -- everything was designed and built. The course is flat with many lateral ponds as the main hazards. One good point is that the course side houses do not encroach upon the course like many housing development golf courses and OB rarely comes into play.
The course is usually open early in the season (February) and closes late (November). There is a small driving range and a practice green. The pro shop staff and the locals are friendly.

Good weekday course to work on your game
86 degree weather under perfect skies. We played from the Blue (back) tees at 6,779 yards. Slope is 70.8/122.
First time I have played the course since Fall 2016. There have been improvements, specifically the pond between the 2nd and 8th fairways. It looks to be rebuilt. It is surrounding by laid sod that is struggling to find it's growth.
This course is easy to get on, relatively affordable, and sits within an old residential development. Greens are bigger, some are sloped, very little undulations. Fairways are wide and are in the best condition that I have seen them in over ten years. The greens have damage from animals, dry spots, and non-repaired pitch marks. The last is difficult to fathom as most players at this course are local residents who pay a "member" fee annually. They need to patrol their course more.
Staff is great. Same old good people in the shop. Snacks are available as is beer.
I will play this course a couple of times a month.
Revisit Stansbury Park Golf Course
The course didn't have our tee time we made with golfnow, however; they were able to get us right out.
It's been years and years since I have played this course. The fairways are in pretty good shape, but getting off the fairway you have heavy crabgrass. Makes it difficult to find and hit your ball. A few of the 'hard' sand traps didn't have rakes. The putting greens in fair to good condition. A good pace - we were done in 4hrs. Lots of water! It was good to revisit this course, will probably try to get out there again. The price is right!
Spring golf.
It is early spring and the course was not in great condition. The green were in poor condition.
The rest of the course was good shape for early spring.
