Tale of Two Courses
First time playing and I was rather surprised. The first seven holes are rather bland; a typical Gulf Coast municipal course feel with sparse Pines and level holes. Holes 8-18 are night and day difference from the first seven holes! A lot of elevation changes, blind shots, and accuracy becomes paramount. Predominantly all holes have small, turtleback greens where holding approaches is a constant challenge. The course was in overall good condition, from tees through the greens. The $70 rate is overpriced, which likely results in extremely fast pace of play due to the course being almost completely empty. I find it hard to justify the rate when RTJ Cambrian Ridge is only 30-mins away and 30% less expensive. Overall, I would definitely return to this course if the price point was in the $45-50 range.
