Pace of play was very slow due in part because there was no starter and groups of one or two walkers were intermixed with groups foursomes in carts. A suggestion would be start walking golfers off the front nine and golfers in carts off the 10th hole.
Finally, excellent greens
The last time I played here was 3 or 4 years ago and the greens were so bad (ridiculously slow) I simply picked up when I reached the green. A new company took over a few years ago and the improvement with the greens is almost unbelievable. They are in great condition, almost perfect speed and very true. Also, there is now sand in the bunkers. This course is wide open (not many trees and no water), but they have made the fairways very narrow and left the rough very long. And it is plenty long for the average amateur. All in all, a welcome improvement to the collection of enjoyable public courses in the area.
Fun course
The course was wet as expected for April golf. Rate was raised $5 from quoted price on GolfNow app
Amherst could do better
I only started playing this course 8-9 years ago so that I don’t half to drive a half hour out to Akron to golf. The course has several holes like 4, 8,14 and 17. Their staff is very friendly and I know they are really trying but the course needs better drainage and faster greens.
SLOW!!
Can’t recommend this course. Pace of play was abysmal. It took 2.5 hours for my son and I to play the front 9.
Golf course in Amherst
This course was mediocre at best! Hard to tell where the fairways end and the rough begins! The starter guy was awesome! Very personable and kept things moving. The cashier was also very nice.
This course could be so much better with a little TLC. Spend a few bucks on some weed and feed for goodness sake!!
Most open course on the planet
But unfortunately it seemed so easy and open it lulled me to sleep
Great Golf Experience
Greens were in excellent condition and staff was great, got me out early and off I went in under 2.5 hours.
Great value for the money and fun layout.
Bruce in the pro shop is THE MAN!!
Pretty decent
I was by myself I was three minutes late the starter told me , well it took the person at the register 5 minutes to find the price of golf balls I was buying . So he put me behind a 4 lol I guess he showed me ! The next hole they let me pass . 🤦♂️. A gentleman named Noel was extremely nice and helpful . Def would go back but they need to clean the facilities better bathrooms had paper on the floor small puddles but other then that really nice
Tee Time Troubles
Don’t allow 5:50 am Tee times if you don’t open until 6:15 am. You wasted our time. Course attendant acted like it was my fault for booking a Tee time before they open. Luckily we were the first ones off the tee at 6:20 because by then it was jammed up. Figure it out please.
Big Buffalo Surprise
We had an unbelievable time at the course. We played three times over this past weekend. The greens were perfect. You can tell the course is in a positive transition. They have done some really nice work on the back nine.It was a lot more challenging than we thought. We will never forget the 9th. Really thin fairway into the green that you can reach with a big drive. Audobon's staff was so nice to us, made us feel like we were members of the club. We are already planning on playing the course in the future.
