Waitomo Golf Club

If you're looking for a good walk and need an excuse to exercise your clubs, Waitomo GC will fit the bill. After a few minutes settling up with the pro shop I just stepped out the front door and right onto the first tee. A parkland course with rolling landscapes and a broad variety of trees dotting the fairways. There are very few hazards on the course, just a handful of bunkers and the water that is present doesn't come into play. The greens were all pretty much identical in size and shape. A nice stop before heading a few miles down the road to do some caving later in the afternoon.

A few miles south of the course are the Waitomo Caves, an increasingly popular tourist attraction.
