About
Los Delfines Golf and Country Club sits on a bay along the Pacific on Nicoya Peninsula. This nine-hole course plays 6,374 yards over 18 and has recently been renovated. A round begins on a 337-yard par-4 that requires a driver or 3-wood to an open fairway, followed by a mid- or short iron to the sloping pear-shaped green, steering clear of the front bunker, for par or a birdie. The longest hole is the eighth, a par-5 472-yarder through trees, requiring positioning from the tee, a mid- or short iron lay-up - minding water right and left - to make the two-level green approachable, if well-guarded; birdie if you can. The ninth, a 149-yard par 3, requires good work from the tee followed by a mid- or short iron to the uphill green, though bunkers right and left require accuracy to achieve par.

Member finally
I did a review last year and thought I’d check in and give an update for 2019. Still great;)
We have recently finished our house in the area and so it was time to buy a membership at Los delfines. Because we play a lot it’s the best value for family membership as green fees are $100.
It’s the best option around and plays very difficult. This 9 hole course plays long with multiple blind shots and small greens. The course is always in great shape.
The director of golf is a pleasure to talk with and his course knowledge is superior. Uli is from the old
Country and his attention to detail is spot on. His bark is louder than his bite, but once you get to know him he adds to the allure of the course.
Staff is friendly, weather is always great and sometimes we have the course to ourselves, depending on time of year and day of week. Not much more you can ask for.
Highly recommend the course.
Surprising good
Only 9 holes, which you play twice for the green fee.
The course is in spectacular shape. Layout is just the right amount of difficulty without being painful.
Green fees are expensive at around $100 USD. If you live in the area or will be playing there more than 5 times you should buy a membership, in because very good value, as they are around $500-1000 depending on what you get.
It’s actually one of the nicest I’ve played in Costa Rica for the overall feel and state of the course. Must play once if you’re in the area.
