Rocksprings Country Club
       About
As you drive through the rugged terrain around Rocksprings, you’ll understand why an open mind is required to experience the golf at Rocksprings Country Club. This borderline pasture golf course was opened in 1976 by local rancher Joe Ball. Ball started with a driving range, then eventually built this 9-hole layout with sand greens. While there is no official water on the course, Ball ingeniously staked out an area and put up a “no fishing” sign with ceramic ducks, which serves as the only hazard.
Drive it straight because “cart paths” frame the fairways, and if your ball is outside of them, the ranchland rough is tough on your clubs. Bring an old iron to punch out of it. However, if you are in the fairway, the “natural prairie grasses” generally offer good lies.
Getting there : Located 6 miles south of Rocksprings on Hwy. 55. Turn right past the airport.
