Iraan Golf Course

About
Iraan is isolated, and you won't generally pass through here on the way to somewhere else. Even so, we recommend that you make a special trip here to play one of the gems of West Texas golf. An oasis in an otherwise desolate place, it's in outstanding condition for a small-town course. We heard of a group of about 15 San Antonio golfers who annually make the pilgrimage to Iraan for a one-week, nonstop golf orgy. The course must be good to warrant a week in a West Texas oil town of 1,300 where your amenities consist of the trailer park up the road! Another benefit was the surprisingly fast pace of play by the locals.
The very clean club house sells cold beers for $1.25. Call ahead to ensure course availability. They were having a cross-country meet on the course the Saturday we were there, and the course wasn't open until they were finished.
Getting there : Located off Hwy. 349 on the north side of the road
