Slow greens and clover fairways
About a ten minute drive from the center of Menaggio (15€ cab ride). The pro shop and clubhouse are excellent, and the layout is tight and challenging. The staff were very friendly as well.
However for the price, course conditions were very poor. Resort level prices for municipal level groundskeeping. Many tee boxes were uneven and the greens had patches of bare dirt. It's also an additional 50€ for an electric cart, which, combined with the hilliness and altitude, is almost a necessity.
For rental sets they offered Callaway, Taylormade, and Mizuno. I chose Mizuno and was given a set of JPX 825 series clubs, along with a Ping G15 wedge and no name 60 degree wedge. The Taylormade sets I saw were old Speedblades. In summary - this course knows they are the only game around.
