Olds Golf Club

The history of the course dates as far back as 1925. The course began as a nine-hole venture in 1981 and expanded to 18 holes 10 years later, yet this championship 6,881 yard, par 72 track feels like it's been around longer.

Under the roof of their two storied clubhouse you'll find a pro shop with all your golfing needs, the restaurant and on the lower level, the locker rooms and storage. Practice facilities are top notch and include a large putting/chipping green, a 300 yard driving range and just east of the clubhouse is a 5-hole Par 3 course. The Olds GC is an easy walking course but should you wish to ride there's a sizeable fleet of newer Yamaha carts available.

Players will have upwards of six tee positions to chose from on each hole. An idyllic course, it plays along well trimmed fairways that wind their way through mature trees and shrubs. And just to remind you that a premium is placed on good ball striking, there are no fewer than eleven water hazards and twenty seven bunkers to avoid.

Depending on how skilled you are at interpreting the gentle swales and subtle breaks on the carpet like greens, good putts will drop.

This south central Alberta golf course continues to receive high praise and has earned its reputation as a great test of golf and attracts players from all over. The Olds Golf Club would be the envy of any community.

The best deal around

There is a reason the Alberta Golf Association uses this course for qualifying and championships. It’s that good !! The best greens in the province yr after yr. big props to the landscaping program at olds college. This course does everything correctly including pricing. No pretentious people here. It’s a great place for spending time with friends. .

Great early season conditions

I got my first round of the year in at my home course and it was great. The greens are in amazing condition and the course is coming along nicely. There is one hole that is currently under construction but will be up soon and once that take place this is will be one of the better tracks in Central Alberta. Looking forward to a lot of good rounds here this season.

A great course for the price

The course is one of the best values in all of Alberta. It is immaculately maintained and the greens are always in amazing shape.
This is a very easy walking course and is pretty flat. What makes this course difficult are its large fast greens. They can can very tough on some days and the pin placement are key to getting a low score if you know the slopes. It is also amazing value for a membership or a single round, probably the best bang for your buck in between Calgary and Edmonton.
The course has also spent over a year changing out some holes and doing other renovations which have made big improvements to the layout.
There are couple issues with being slow some days and some staff and members can be unaccomodating but overall I have enjoyed most of my rounds played here. The management have worked hard over the last couple years the rectify the problems and they will only get better in the future.
This course is great for all types of golfers and is a great round for walking or on a cart. There are also five sets of tee boxes so there is plenty of variety for any handicap. Worth the try once or an amazing value if you are looking for an affordable membership.

Staff Ruined Experience

Starting at the front desk, all the way to the grounds maintenance.

Girl at the front desk made us wait while she finished up texting.... then proceeds to tell us we were late (9:50 for a 10:08 tee time)

then we get to the tee only to wait 20 mins to tee off and waited for the every shot the next 17 holes. 5:25 for 18 holes on a Crazy easy course.....

When we called the club house to get a marshal out to speed up pace of play, we were told they have no marshal and there is nothing they can do.....

yet once we finally got back to club house the manager was in his office yucking it up with some buddies.

the grounds crew will not move out of the way when cutting. they will not turn off machines if they do stop to let you shoot.

only good thing about this course...we will never play it again!
