Oakwood golf ⛳️
I needed to book a round for my buddy and I on the east side of city to I picked Oakwood. I had never been there but fairly easy to find 20 minutes east of Winnipeg. There was a driving range to get warmed up on and friendly staff to greet us but it had rained the night before and parts of the course were covered in water, cart paths, fairways etc and we had to remain the cart paths which resulted in a slower round. The layout was fine, greens easy to read and if dried out as the day went on. It had a restaurant but we were unaware you need to order ahead if you want food during the round. Would I go back probably not but it was worth what I paid.
Golfing Delight
In general the Greens are in great shape along with the Fairways . Make sure your hitting straight as the rough will add to your score very quickly. The front 9 holes differently will test your iron skills While the back 9 holes are for cutting the driver loose. Playing this course is like playing two different courses which is a great pleasure. I suggest you book around and be ready to test your golfing skills.
Condition
Had a lot of wet spots making fairway shots very difficult plus ball and clubs full of mud every shot
Jerk in the pro shop
I don't know why these course use GolfNow, when it seems they r totally rude once u show them the confirmation through GolfNow! My wife and i booked in the morning for an afternoon round. I live 90 minutes from the course with 2 construction zones to get throu. We breezed throu them and arrived an hour early. Drizzly day, and nobody there, but wood not let us go. So we putted around until5 young guys showed up. Then he blessed us with allowing us to tee off 10 minutes b4 our tee time behind them! On the first tee, 4 out of 5 had drives under 100 yards. It CLEARLY MARKED "NO FIVESOMES" ! So he can break the rules for them but be a total jerk for GolfNow golfers!
Great Shape
If you are looking for a course that is challenging but fun. Book around. With Fall here and leaves falling you'll find this course a pleasure to play. Greens are in great shape and fairways give you a nice rollout. A course that is waiting for your personality and style.
Book around and don't be disappointed.
