Pricy for course
Course in good condition, people friendly, price a bit high
For a nine hole course, I know you play 2 nines but value for money at the price we paid was a bit much
Diamond in the ruff
Friendly staff, pace of play was good today, course in excellent condition, play here 4/5 times a year, always warm greeting when arrive never a problem with staff
Nice course, but slow play....
We love this course, but the pace of play was slow......
Group of 4 in front of us.... one hole behind when we were playing the ninth hole. They played from the back tees...two should have been the front tees. Marshall should have done something....
invest in machines for customers to pay debit on the course
Horrible start to the morning, they double booked every tee time. There was a line up of 10-16 people in front of us we managed to start on another hole which was good but our round took almost 5.5 hrs which is ridiculous. We could not buy drinks on the course because the cart girl only accepted cash which was not told to us. We couldnt leave a credit card and only to find out after the fact that would could of purchased a cooler bag full of beer. The course however is a nice course and for the money playing a 9/18 course from different tee boxes was ok
Hidden Gem
A beautiful well designed course. Very friendly staff excellent greens keeping. This course is the best value for money I have ever seen in golf now. Beware though, there’s only one set of men’s tees and it plays fairly long at 6400 yds, so if you struggle with length it might be a little tough.
Worst Experience Ever - Stay Away!
We drove 30 minutes up to this course on Father’s Day up to this course as we had booked a good deal through golf now. I guess management decided to give away our tee time for a greater fee as we were turned away stating that this tee time was not available (we booked 2 days earlier). Golf course would not honor low rate we originally booked at a later tee time so we left. BTW - the course was falsely advertised as 18 holes which it’s only 9 - you can play twice from different tee blocks... lol stay away and save yourself some aggravation!!!
Hidden gem
Designed by Doug Carrick he has brought the best in views, challenge and design on this property. Two sets of tees (+ yellow) for this 9- holer uniquely brings a different look on most holes and for club selections. Lots of traps to catch wayward shots ( some needed tlc) and nice elevations on some holes. Conditions greens and fairways were excellent especially after heavy rains, no soggy areas. Newly renovated clubhouse.
WINDY, COLD, WET AND SLOW
I play this course 2-3 times each year. Out by myself as my wife wasn't feeling well.
EXTREMELY windy which makes this course tough to play. the rough is long grass and gorse, and the bunkers are not typical soft fluffy sand,
Greens were actually pretty quick with little break, wind was a factor putting as well,
i was between two foursomes to start, and the group ahead were terribly slow. Understandable you are looking for lost balls in the gusting winds; i did as well, but lets not be stupid about it; it's a ball and no one was going low today.
This course is 9 holes with different tees. played part of back nine with wonderful couple from local Rockwood.
Not a great day for the game, and waiting on every hole in cold wet conditions is not fun,
But i like the course and will be play it again this year.
Greens
Biggest issue I had was pace of play as there was two fivesomes on the course, secondly year by year condition is worse . So many low plugs of old holes on greens and just cutting corners on general maitenance.
excellent condition for this time of year
First time in 21 years that I have played at Calerin (moved away). Enjoyed this challenging course very much. Fairways and greens in great shape. Revocations inside makes a huge difference. Staff very friendly. We will definitely choose Calerin Golf again.
Calerin
This is a great course with exceptional staff
Played today and the course was in perfect condition given all of the rain we have had
Just a perfect day for a great round of golf
Hidden Gem - great layout
What a hidden gem! Great layout 9-hole course. excellent condition. Played two round as 18-hole using different tee sets.
Will come back.
Decent course for the price
Only 9 holes, but the tee boxes are set up to play differently on the second nine. Some change the look of the holes, some just change yardage. Good conditions considering how early in the season. Good value.
