Haliburton Highlands Golf Course

Staff was friendly and accommodating due to weather. Beautiful views and terrain. Fun course to walk, decent course conditions despite time of year, poor t boxes but great greens.

This course gets a bad rating but I gotta say, my brother and I walked this course and had a great time. While on vacation we decided to walk a quick 9 holes in the morning and weren’t disappointed. Yes, the greens aren’t the best we’ve played on and the fairways aren’t pga certified, but you’re golfing right on the Canadian Shield. With the ups and downs of the course we especially appreciated the view on the couple holes that gave great perspective on the nature you go to Haliburton to see. Hole 7 I believe was particularly fun. I played the 9 hole minden course while I was in the area as well and it was also good, I was just provoked to review this course because it doesn’t deserve the rating it gets. Go enjoy a beautiful, cheap, 9 holes and just foot wedge the ball onto the grass if you need to.

Was the absolute worst course conditions I've ever played!! Tee decks are dirt with little patches of grass, fairway grass is hard to find greens are at least grass but extremely slow. You don't need a golf cart you need a Quad as the cart paths are horrible and in some cases down right dangerous. Tried to talk to staff after game and all they did was get mad at me for saying how poor the conditions where. Our foursome simply wanted to try a different course and not one of us will ever go back!!

First off the site said 31$ for 9 holes 8$ for walking fee ok sure. I get charged 50$ total! The course was not worth the 50$ at all. Terrible fairways awful greens the cart paths were abysmal! I almost fell out of the cart trying to drive!! One hole wasn't even fully ready. I will never spend another dime there unless they fix it up. Its a glorified gravel pit! Your better off going to any other course in this lovely town besides here. Just a terrible course. Its a shame because hole 8 has a beautiful view of the lake but its ruined by sandy tee boxes and terrible conditions.

The course was in considerable decline and the “grass” was none existent. The greens were in very bad shape and the fairways were close to Sahara Desert. It would be close to a solid sand trap with wet patches here and there with the Canadian Shield sticking out here and there. I can’t believe that they charged full price to play here. I will not be returning to play another round anytime in the near future. Very disappointing. This course was a jewel years ago. The pace was awful with two to 3 groups waiting at each hole. I watched a couple play 3/4 balls off the signature 8th hole while we sat and waited for them. Brutal pace of play.

Owners are trASSholes they watch over your shoulder from the moment you walk outta your car. Try to look into your personal belongings. And charge 45$ to play on the Mojave desert but heaven forbid you bring a beer of your own…. Sargent parking lot will walk you inside you buy one of her beers while her cuckold husband pretends to shop in his own club house to make sure I don’t rob them of the 3 beers I wanted to drink in their dust mites infested greens

This course is challenging with elevation changes throughout. There is a par 3 229 yards with a small green completely protected by water. Another par 3 is about 200 out and 100 down, again with protection. Fairways pretty rough in places, but it's been a very dry summer and this is not a high budget course so I am not concerned about that. Would certainly play it again.

As always, Haliburton Highlands delivers a fun round on a one of kind course in great shape located in a stunning setting. Finally got over the stream protecting the 8th hole too!

We wanted to have a practice round and play a good 9 hole course. We arrived early and the young lady who checked us in was very helpful and super friendly. This course was great very up and down and challenging, very enjoyable round. Thank you A+++++

Played yesterday 2pm on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Only 3 cars in the parking lot. I soon realized why. The course is in terrible shape despite the good rains we have had recently. I t looks as if no effort is being made to get the course right for the summer. Dead grass on many fairways and no care taken with the short rough. What a waste of a potentially great course! I have played there for quite a few years and this is the worst I’ve seen it. Time to move on.

The fairways were in very rough shape, but keeping in mind that there isn't fairway irrigation, but still beat up. Some greens in okay shape. Staff, carts, and layout great as always.

A bit rough on upkeep (but the greens are well kept), but a delightful setting, some challenging holes, and very friendly staff. I am just an occasional golfer and enjoy this course

This course has a lot of elevation changes. Most shots are blind, but fair. Not easy, but not punishing. Figuring out yardage was a little challenging. Looks like the new owner is making changes for the better, but still needs some work. All-in-all it is a good value for the $. Can't wait to see the improvements. Then I would highly recommend because the views are worth the price alone right now. FYI, I wouldn't recommend walking the course unless you are a "hiker".
