Beautiful Course
This course was in fantastic condition. The best greens that I have played on in Kingston this season by far. The average golfer may find it a bit long but as long as you stay somewhat straight off the tee it is doable to shoot a good round.
I really enjoy the difference between the front 9 and the back 9. The front 9 seems a little longer than the back but is a little more forgiving. There aren't to many hazards on the front 9 but there are a lot of mature trees that easily deal you some challenging approach shots.
The Back 9 is more scenic than the front and I think it can be a little less forgiving. Holes 10 through 13 are shaped beautifully around a lot of natural rivers that flow through the property, making you play smart golf to navigate around the water and sand. Holes 14 through 16 are narrowly shaped out of a natural maple forest making short and straight tee shots a must. Hole 17 is a challenging short par 3 where an average player must sneak a high wedge shot between two sand traps at a smaller sloped green. Hole 18 is the shortest par 5 on the course allowing you a chance to finish with a birdie.
I stayed and had a draft beer and chicken caesar wrap with sweet potato fries on the deck. The food was good and the staff were friendly. I'll be back next year for sure.
Cow Pasture
Booked a tee time because of a great deal and now undersand why it was so cheap. Our tee time was double booked which made us have to wait. The ground in the fairways and on the greens are as hard as cement, the fairways are moslty weeds and dirt with some grass mixed in. If you land your ball on the green it will never stick, the ground is so hard you will end up 15 yards off. I have played many courses in different provinces and this was by far the worst course.
great course
We got a great deal for 18 holes and a cart. Course was in excellent condition especially the greens. Hole location on #18 was on a steep slope and pretty unfair.
Noticeable Improvements in Key Areas
Another enjoyable round played in the second part of the season! Significant improvements were made in the maintenance quality of both the fairways and the greens. Water hazards on the back nine remain interesting with different wind conditions (from the North). Holes 14 through 16 require very precise tee shots as the fairways are on the thight standard. Overall very pleasant before the leafs start to come down...
Challenging
The course was in really good shape considering the summer we have had. Greens were in excellent shape. Maintenance of the course was excellent and the pro shop staff very friendly. Great value for your money. Highly recommended.
Nice Greens and Great Value
Challenging course laid out in pleasant wooded area with some really narrow fairways and small greens which are nice and fast.
Very nice staff. I really enjoy playing Inverary.
Good course to play
I'm an avid golfer but wanted to take my wife and friends golfing, this was a good place to go as its not too challenging for them.
Not worth the drive!
We played this course enroute from Ottawa to Toronto. Course is in fairly condition but with very narrow fairways and small fast green. Will not play this course if not enroute to Toronto.
Another Great Outing at the Inverary Golf Course
It was a little wet when we started but the light drizzle was upon us for just four or five holes. Greens were particularly in excellent conditions but my partner wished they were slightly bigger - but very enjoyable to practice target golf! The back nine is considerably more challenging with more water hazards and a couple narrow fairways (just go with your confident club). Lunch was great and we only wish to have a nice club house like this one at our home course. We will come back again soon!
Very enjoyable
Small greens, but very true and great speed. Possibly the best I have played this year.
The course is not easy, the design is nice. Tees and fairways need a bit of TLC, but will not prevent you from enjoying this course
Great Day
The fairways and greens are in great shape and the carts are relatively new. The course has a good mixture of long and short holes with a variety of narrow and wide open fairways.
We Loved Inverary!!
This course has grown so much over the last ten years, the greens were great and the fairways well groomed! Jason in the pro shop was very courteous and helpful. A must for every golfer!!
Good hole variety
Good variety of wide open and tight heavily treed holes, fairways were good but several times had to shoot my ball out of a rut on the fairway
Good time.
Overall the course was in good shape and the staff very helpful /friendly.
Decent golf
First nine are basic with no traps and wide fairways. Second nine is much prettier, more narrow, and with traps (which need work-better sand would help). Very nice smooth greens, some of which are a hard target. Overall a good golfing experience, despite the mild rain on 5-6 holes.
very much enjoyed very good challenge
would recommend this course to anybody very good challenge
Hidden Gem
My first time playing this golf course and I was pleasantly surprised, a great mixture of challenging holes and overall interesting layout, especially on the back 9. Some minor adjustments could really make a huge impact for this golf course, there are no hole direction signs after each hole and in a few instances you have to search for the next tee, yardage signs are not always visible and the location of the hole signs on the tee boxes should be closer to the tee. One area that slowed down play was the length of the rough off the fairway, I saw numerous groups spending there time searching for golf balls. Overall a great golf course and one I would play again.
Save your time and money.
Course was not in good shape at all. Fairways were not cut at all. Waste time looking for balls in the fairway. Literally, it was easier to find a ball in the woods then in the fairway. Greens were covered in sand and they were dried right out. Balls would bounce off the greens like pavement. Sand would fly in the air when the ball hit the green. Even with it dried out the greens were super slow due to all the sand. Played here about 4 or 5 years ago. It was way better then.
This course is very well maintained
I was very impressed on how well both the fairways and the putting greens were kept. Although the carts did not have GPS, the clear fairway markings provided adequate guidance on distance to the putting greens.
Thank you very much for this review. It saved me time, money and the frustration of the same experience.
