Chall
Tough course. Lots of hills, not many flat lies and several blind shots. If you are not straight you better bring lots of golf balls.
Very scenic course, You may not want to walk unless you are very fit
Course is in excellent shape
Course is in excellent shape
Great course and awesome greens
Great 5th Year
Our family has a cabin out here. So once a year we bring our friends out and the boys do a in cabin tourney so to speak. KGCC has been amazing at making sure we have a great time. Course is challenging on so many levels. Only thing the desire for the beer cart to stay out longer and have a better selection. Or at least give us a heads up before she is off.
Look forward to another great event next year.
Thanks to Jennifer and her staff!!!
Nice course
Many holes where you do not see where your ball lands due to the undulating fairways. A much nicer experience on the second round or playing with someone who is familiar with the course.
Great course
I've played this course several times and it is in as good a shape as I've seen it. The greens roll true and there are no tight lies in any of the fairways. I happened to talk to the course superintendent ...Doug., during the round and found him to be friendly and knowledgable . Some tough pins along with several false fronts. Looking forward to our next round.
Great course!
Fairways and greens very well maintained. Friendly staff. Fun/challenging course. Beer cart girls make their rounds quickly. Highly recommended.
Challenging
Many blind holes, hard to determine the green location. You have to play the course a lot to orientate yourself .Bonus feature is the docking for boat accessibility.
Great course
A really fun and challenging course. Lots of hills and blind shots with fair greens. This well kept course is a must play for any golfer that visits Kenora. Only bad part is the front desk staff seem to be quite snide if you are a non-member. Keep the conversation to minimum with them and go enjoy your round!
Good condition for first part of June
Challenging course with many different lies during your round. If you score well here you can score we'll anywhere . Pro shop staff were polite and knowledgeable
Nice course
The course is over undulating ground surrounded by trees. Numerous holes have water crossing the fairways which make it a challenge so selecting the landing area is important.
The staff were very friendly and when one of our carts quit unexpectantly, a phone call by the beverage cart girl (who just happened to come by at the right time)got us a replacement very quickly.
The fairways are in good condition, the greens are slow, and in the odd place it is difficult to see where one should aim.
bring a few balls
Challenging course. a few blind holes make it quite difficult. Scenic and enjoyable, more enjoyable after playing it a second and third time. Looking forward to better scores once we figure out club selection on the tough holes
Challenging but wow with the fall colours
The course is very challenging but plays fair because of its excellent condition. The greens have nice pace and roll true except for the occasional goose gift. But that's fall golf in Canada. The pro shop staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a golf course view for a drink and lunch after The food was very good. I think our next round will involve supper with a lake view and a sunset. A great place to spend a few hours......too bad a level lie is not a common occurrence. Namaste
Nice course - Bad weather
Very scenic course which unfortunately got hit with bad weather the day prior and the day of our round. Lots of standing weather and forced to stay on cart path for the round. Didn't finish the round as the weather turned from bad to worse. Course is very hilly and challenging with very few "straight" holes. Lots of blind shots around the bends and over the hills. Would expect lower scores the second time around now that we have a better idea where the greens are and how some of the holes should be played. Will definitely try to play there again. Small pro shop but clubhouse food was very good. Have to pay your bar tab and food tab separately though. Lots of wildlife on the course including doe and her fawn froliking in the rain puddles
