John C. Beasley Municipal Golf Course

About
You can't play here on Tuesdays, as this is the day dedicated to the maintenance man who goes about his duties and takes care of the large, well-conditioned greens. Leon Howard designed this 9-hole course in the early 1980s, and his track features narrow, tree-lined fairways, water on four of the nine holes (2, 3, 4, and 5), and no bunkers. Out-of-bounds comes into play on holes 1 and 9.
No. 5 is the feature hole, playing about 170 yards with a pond fronting the green. Hole 3 is also challenging, with water on both sides of the fairway and a landing area only 40 yards wide.
Getting there : From Hwy. 59 west, turn right at the Dairy Queen on Route 351, then drive 5 blocks to the course.
