About
The Old South is visually alive and well at River Plantation Country Club, complete with moss-covered oaks, magnolias, dogwoods and azaleas. Featuring three nine-hole layouts -- Augusta, Biloxi and Charleston -- all with Tiff Sport Bermuda tees and Tiff Eagle Bermuda greens, as well as Bermuda roughs. But don't let the look fool you: The full-service club also has modern amenities. River Plantation's short-game facilities have a separate area for approach shots, as well as a chipping green, sand bunker and practice green for putting.

It's a very challenging tract. Lots of everything. Really true greens.
Enjoyed the Course
It had been over a year since I last played River Plantation and was pleasantly surprised. Greens were in excellent shape. Tee boxes were only slightly better than average and the fairways were in very good shape. Only knock was the lack of maintenance around the greens - had not been cut in a while so there were a lot of weeds. Overall, course was a lot of fun.
Solid Set Up
We played Augusta to Charleston. The course was in great condition. The greens were some of the smallest I have ever seen. A few of the greens had some bowls and different tiers that provided some tricky putts, but they did roll true. The scorecard shows there is a lot of water throughout the course, but most of it did not come into play for any players in our group. The back to back par 3's on The Charleston 9 were a little different. I felt it was the same hole basically. The range was less than expected with the balls and mats looking pretty beaten for such a nice course. The interior of the clubhouse looked fantastic. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I would like to play the other 9 they have here as well.
Course condition
This course is in very good condition and excellent test of your ability to keep your ball in play.
Good time / great value
Thought the course and greens were in very good shape. Gas carts were not my favorite and would have preferred a refreshment cart. Would definitely recommend and play again though.
Great combination of fun/ challenge
Not too easy, not too tough. Fun course. Is a 27 hole round a possibility?
Very Enjoyable
Enjoyed the layout ,the only negative thing i have to say is that the yardage markers are not plentiful. I had a tough time getting the correct yardage. We will definitely play here again . Staff was very helpful.

The staff were great. The course was in great shape. The greens were in good shape but were very slow. I would definitely play here again.

Love these greens
The grass in the fairways, around the tee boxes and greens was cut but the clippings could have been cleaned up. The guys cutting grass should respect the golfer when they are putting. The greens were and are always great! Great staff.

Course was in Excellent Shape
Tied my career best with a 78. Played with a nice guy, Kelly, another GolfNow member The greens were fast and overall in great shape. Cart path only due to overnight rain. Fairways were a little wet but in great shape. Never saw a cart girl and it was 90 degrees & 90% humidty

Just what I have been looking for
From start to finish I felt right at home here. Staff and players very friendly and welcoming. Practice facilities exceeded my expectations. Course is green, mature, with greens running at decent speeds. Plenty of challenge here with doglegs both left and right. Lots of fun water in play. This place is a gem. And very affordable for afternoon play. I am definitely going back.

Relaxing day on the course
The course was challenging for an average player like me, but still very enjoyable. It is well maintained. The spacing of tee times was good, as we weren't all stacked up waiting on each other. Didn't really enjoy the gas powered golf carts, but that was the only negative.

older course with tight fairways, nice layout conditions were good, greens a little slow but that's ok.
