Great get away and close to Fargo!!
A very fun course to play if you want to work on every shot in your game. Not a lot of trouble and recovering from a poor tee shot is usually an option. The greens are challenging and the approach shots take planning.
Small, older course off I-94
I was able to play Cottonwood at the last minute since my original plan to play in Mapleton east on I-94 fell through. Once again I was told to just show up first thing in the morning at Maple River so I stopped in the night before to just confirm and I was told that I couldn't get out until 9 because of some league. So Casselton I came.
Cottonwood is a small and older course. The holes appear fairly straight with a few slight dog legs. The greens are really small and very tough to hold an approach shot on. Many tall trees to give the holes their own identity. The first cut of rough was extremely long but the rest of the course was good.
I actually jumped two holes by accident because the signs for the next hole are not very good. This tacked on some extra time to my stop here. If they could address this it would be much more pleasurable to the non-locals.
