Decent course in the Clear Lake area
There are two 18 hole golf courses in the Clear Lake area.
Most golfers rant & rave about the Clear Lake golf course, because of the awesome views & layout.
If you don't care about the all that, and you want to spend less money golfing, then Poplar Ridge is a great alternative.
It is more of a golf community, with new homes all around the course.
It it usually well manicured, and the greens are typically in great shape.
It is a challenging course, quite different than Clear Lake Course.
I always make time to play Poplar Ridge when I am in Clear Lake!
Should be better
I remember when they were building this golf course, I had such high hopes because the terrain was so perfect, hills, lakes, and plenty of trees. When the course got finished and I played it for the first time I was so disappointed. One of the worst layouts I have ever played, so many goofy holes. Seems like the people that built this course have never played golf before. Only 2 or 3 good golf holes in my opinion. Only positive thing I will say about this course is that it is usually in nice shape and I love the way there bunkers look. But if you are in the area go to Clear Lake golf course, you won't be disappointed there.
