Hickory Sticks Golf Club - Mounds Course

Have played this course twice in the last 2 months. Each time carts were not allowed to be on fairway nor able to cross at a 90 degree. Might as well walk rather than paying for a cart as you are not able to get near your ball with cart. Will not be back.

I've played Hickory Sticks Golf Club many times over the past couple of years. I reserve my tee-time through GolfNow and take advantage of both Hot Deals and GolfPass membership rewards. The course is challenging--thick rough, native grass in areas, tree-lined fairways and it often plays long for me (meaning driver and long iron or fairway wood approaches). When I first started playing the roughs were too thick--almost unplayable--and the greens were infested with a tough-to-solve fungus. Course officials have worked tirelessly to improve the conditions and it is now one of the better courses I've played in the Northwest Ohio/Northeast Indiana area. For the money, it may be in the top 5 (with an average 18-hole rate in the mid-$40's and Hot Deals in the low $20's). Many days I arrive at the course and have it almost all to myself. I love the peaceful nature of the rounds and on occasion I've finished 18 and asked to play a second round. That said, the lack of players is a bit alarming considering the quality of the course and the expense of operations. This prompted me to finally write a revew. Now my secret is out and I'll hopefully be forced to share time. It's worth it!

Course was well maintained and had an enjoyable time with no rush behind us or ahead even though they had an event that day. Would like to see some sand in the traps.

The course was in great shape with a helpful and friendly staff. The have a very nice layout with both challenging and scenic holes. Definitely going back

Fairways are tight. A lot of dog legs some were very challenging.. Price was good for 2 golfers.$68 total.

The course was in great shape, aside from a few rough spots on the greens. Pace of play was great for a twosome- 3hrs.

Greens were challenging! Pin locations were in a good spot to make it challenging to putt! Some greens looked like they were trying to grow new grass in areas but nothing to complain about!

The course has much improved since I last played this course 3 years ago. Newer Carts, the greens are in great shape, but very tricky. The real only negative is not being able to drive the golf cart to the parking lot to load and and unload your clubs.

Played here multiple times last year had a great time and it was in great condition, unfortunately the greens had severe fungus and the fairways were dry to the Bone. Good staff great golf carts but mother nature's put the smack down on this course

Never heard of this course before. Only 45 mins from Ft. Wayne, thought I’d give it a shot. Not a long course but it has some doglegs, trees and water to make it interesting. Yes, the greens had some issues but it looks like the staff is addressing this. I’m giving it 4 Stars. Really enjoyed playing here.

The staff was friendly minus when I dropped my hotdog on the ground while having to self serve and was not offered another dog or discount on my floor dog that broke in half. The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition while some of the greens were definitely spotty with big patches of grass worn away. Other than that the course was nice with some long holes which it made it fun to let some drives rip. For the price and everything else I will definitely be golfing here again.

Every season this course gets something to make it nicer or clean to play. Very nice layout and friendly staff. Showing signs of summer heat.
