Must Play In NW Illinois
We have played Park Hills (East and West) a dozen times over the years but today was a very pleasant surprise. Being 65+ we played the East course from the Green tees = just the right length. This area has had way to much rain in the last 30 days but you could not tell it at all on the East today. Every Tee box was manicured, all the fairways were perfect and I only saw two greens that a blemish.
FANTASTIC CONDITION.!!! This is still a hidden gem to many but for the price I say you could travel an hour or two and really like it.
Beautiful layout.
Some long par 4s from the white tees. Greens and tees are always in immaculate condition. I will play from the longest tees next time. I think it will be quite challenging.
Awesome courses
Place is a gem. Jeff and his staff are friendly professional people. These are two of the best public courses in northern Illinois.Quick greens, and sand traps are always done. Well groomed and maintained.geeat cheeseburgers also. Pj
Nice course to play.
Hometown course for me. Will play again and again.
Oh no......not trees, sand, and water!
Greens were excellent. The trees were not a problem unless you didn't put your shot where you intended.....which leads to the water and sand. On this course, controlling your drive is very important and is the deciding factor between a good round and a round where you are constantly scrambling. Even as badly as things went for me this day, I had a wonderful time. I just had a lot of retrospection as in: "Mother said there'd be days like this".
familiar course in great shape
greens quick and true.
overall well maintained course
must play
had great time , course was in great shape for this time of year and the price was even better
Nice Find
Played the East course. Pleasantly surprised as I had never played there. Very nice condition with interesting variation of holes. Scenic with undulation of fairways that you don't normally see in Northern Illinois. Greens are very nice and very tricky with lots of movement. Good value, worth a visit.
East course
course was in great shape. Tough and challenging greens. Will definitely be coming back!!
1st round @ west
1st time seeing the course - so some of the shots are blind and not knowing where to go or which way the hole really shapes up was a bit of a challenge. par 5 on the back (15 if I remember is a monster, driver 3-wood, 5-iron & hit them all pretty well). course did seem to play long, but fairways were very lush. greens seemed slow, but they had lots of slope & break so they probably have to be or the balls would roll off the green very often. will be back - great "twi-light" deal for a fabulous course
Beautiful course
This course is a hidden gem. Excellently maintained and fun to play. You don't want to miss playing a round here!
well manicured
great coarse great shape we drove one and a half hours to get there .I will do it again
Geat Course for all
This is a park district course. The tees, greens, fairways and sand traps are all very well maintained. They do put too much water on it though. There are 2 18 hole courses so, there is almost always a course that is wide open. If you are ordering food, allow plenty of time prior to your tee time as the service can be a little slow. Great menu with great prices! Beer sold in clubhouse but no beverage cart service.
Can'd believe this is a public course
We played the east course as there was a high school tournament on the west. This course is in excellent condition. The fairways are plush and the greens tricky. Pace of play was perfect. If you have not played this course, go for it.
A must play
A municipal course with excellent character and nice wide open layout. Definitely a challenge in both hole design and length. A beautiful facility with a rightfully proud and friendly staff. Longer par 3s, an insatiable 460+ yd par 4 and undulating greens that are tightly cut leading to frequent 3-4 putts if not careful.
