Enjoyable Public Course

I've played here somewhere between 20 and 30 times, and Sheaffer is usually a good experience. The front nine is heavily guarded by woods. The back nine is out in the open and often windy. It's a nice contrast whether you want to play 9 or 18 holes.

Sheaffer is easily walkable and for the most part flat. It's a good course for beginners, but there's enough of a challenge for skilled players to have fun. The greens are the most challenging part of the course when they are rolling at a fast pace. Sometimes there can be some front pin placements that are fairly difficult to attack.

The value is fantastic. It's also pretty easy to get on whenever you want, even if it's a last-minute decision. It's worth a short drive from out of town to go play a couple times a year.
