Stearns Heritage Golf Course

Read the reviews about the course, that’s all I’m going to say. The bugs were so bad that I didn’t even finish the round. I won’t be going back.

The course had no fairway. It was crabgrass throughout. Even with a perfect shot you were hitting out of the rough. The golfcarts had no brakes and there was no cart path. It was dangerous. There were these hornet or wasps all over the last 3 holes. Swarming everywhere. They were awful. We were on vacation and wanted to try something new. This was the worst course we have ever played on.

Very impressed with the course improvements. As springs progresses the course will even be better.

Play this course several times per year but disappointed in this trip. Played here about a.month ago and wow what a difference one month can make. The greens have been taken over by crabgrass which makes them unpredictable when putting. Normally a good part of this course was by far the worst change in one month I have seen. Too bad because you can get a great deal on GolfNow for this course. Currently I would avoid the course if I had other options. When they get the greens sorted back out I would encourage anyone to give this little 9 hole course a go.

Absolutely horrible experience. Showed up at 915 for my tee time, clubhouse was locked. Called the phone number at least 10 times, never got an answer. 30 minutes later a ground crew worked showed up to mow so I asked him if they were open today and he said the guy should be in by now, but he’d call and see where he was. The guy showed up about 1030, didn’t say a word and tossed cart keys to us and left again. When I finally got to play the greens were trash, sand all over them, divots everywhere, looked like they hadn’t been mowed in weeks. I’ll never waste my money at this place again

Never had a good experience at this course. Book tee times for 915, the clubhouse worker shows up at 1030. Booked a tee time today, but they have a tournament and didn’t publish that to their website. Was told I couldn’t get a refund either even though it’s their fault I couldn’t play. I’d never recommend this course to anybody. Better off going and playing at Williamsburg. At least there the lady is always there to let you play

Found out it was a nine hole course after arriving made the turn about 1030 the guy's watering the green on one. We wait about five minutes he points us to number 2. We wait 3 more minutes and finally move on. Is the etiquette not for him to cut the water move to to side and take five minutes? Well he did take five and ran to the pro to cry about me calling him a A hole for standing over watering the green and pointing us to the the tee box. I informed him he should get to work before 10 o'clock!

Grounds keeper was very friendly and helpful. Check in staff arrived after 9:15 am Tee time

Wow! Haven’t seen this course in such good shape in many many years. Vast improvements over the past 10 years. Somebody has invested some much needed time and money ….tlc to this historic 9 hole course. Use to be one that people drove from all around to play but the course just fell on hard times and people just went elsewhere to play. Several greens have been restructured with some new bunkers. Will definitely visit this course again soon. Great Golf now, Tee Off special. If this level of work continues in the future, this course will be busy again soon.

Absolutely awful. Fairway full of weeds and not mowed. Greens have massive holes & sand pits with numerous divots. Bunkers have huge divots that seems as if no one uses the rake.

The first two holes are worth the price of admission. This course built in the 20's has wonderful old-school built up greens. It appears many of the bunkers have been grassed in, but the course still maintains its old school charm.

Since the course is a little out in the country, I felt there was many people that jumped around the course and disrupted the flow. If you can overlook this, you have a great time.
