STAY AWAY
The course is in terrible shape. I would give it 2 stars based on the greens being a 4, soft and held approach shots, but the tee boxes were in terrible shape, and there was little to no grass for fairways. It’s the second time playing there, first was a few years ago...same conditions. The layout could have been extremely fun to play, as there were many great holes.
The pro shop employee was friendly and down right hospitable, as he sent us out on the South Course due to some slower play on the Middle. Pace was about 3:30, as we moved right along.
STAY AWAY...spend a few more bucks and head over to Wentworth, Heather’s sister course only 5 miles away.
No fairways
The greens were in great shape, the tee boxes were good. The fairways had little grass on them. Played with a coupon, which made it easier to swallow, but would have been livid if paid regular price.
No green grass
Do not waste your time. An absolute disgrace of a golf course. Completely burnt out fairways and very little grass on the course period. Rocks and sand are randomly riddled throughout the fairways. Spend a couple extra bucks and go to Wentworth Hills down the street.
Unfortunate
I wish we had chosen a different course to try. Course condition is unacceptable. I wouldnt play there again for free. I was surprised golf now would advertise this course and may not play new courses on golf now u til they start screening them.
Greens in good shape
Greens in good shape, bunkers in excellent shape. Soft sand no rocks. Rough in fair condition. Electric golf carts were great and surprising that heather hill had them. Some so called high end courses ( I'm talking to you shining rock with your pitiful gas carts that sound like their dying) could use carts like these. One issue was poor condition of fairways probably due to dry hot summer but many bare spots and areas where crab grass and clovers were growing in middle of fairway and rock hard in spots. Lack of drinkable water a problem too especially on a hot summer day. They had water fountains on four or five holes to drink out of but I wouldn't remmend drinking that water
Course Conditions
I wondered why it was so slow on a Sunday when I got there.....I found out. The course is in horrendous shape. Tee to green. Really....beat up! Played North and Middle. No different.
Disgraceful
This course is an absolute disgrace. The fairways barely have any grass and in many places it's bare dirt and ROCKS. On multiple greens, the replaced cup placements were an inch to two inches lower than the rest of the green. You'd be better off playing in your own back yard.
Nice Course
Got a great deal via GolfNow and played with a coworker for the first time here. Very nice golf course overall. Fairways could have been a little better condition-wise.
scottp
1st course this year that i was disappointed in the conditions, hardpan and dead grass, great for long drives. greens were ok. played north to middle 9's. they need to re-evaluate the policy of leaving a license when you get a cart. only a few places do this and with todays id theft issues who wants to leave their license.
Great course
Not pushed good conditions considering the drought . Love playing here . excellent New England golf with course
Decent, some rough patches
Played Middle / South on day before Fathers day, it was going to be a washout on Fathers Day so the course was overwhelmed and the front nine took over 2 hrs.
Course itself is decent shorter course, some fairways have bald/stone patches but greens were in excellent condition and played well.
Would play again if it wasn't so packed as it wasn't enjoyable waiting 10 mins between shots due to overcrowding of course
Heather hill is a dump
I will never play at this place again.. Fairways???? More like rock ways!!!
Nice course
course is in good shape. I play here regularly and they are always friendly and accommodating
Where's the grass
I am not sure why HH is charging full price right now... The fairways on the North course are awful, every "rough" area is full of rocks and dirt... the type of course where your ball will roll out until it hits a patchy/rocky/uneven lie in the "rough" (dirt)... the greens are in good condition but the rest of every hole is awful. I would not recommend playing this course anytime soon especially because, like I said, they are charging full rates right now with course conditions that are significantly worse than mid season. Why? Now I probably won't go back all year.
expensive round on a cow pasture
This course is in horrendous shape. There is barely any grass in the fairways. NOT WORTH $38 to walk. Worth it for $10 or less maybe
Great Value
Staff was incredibly friendly. Course was in pretty good conditions for the time of year.
Played 18 Holes in mid-December in MA
Played an enjoyable round of golf with 3 friends in mid December (42 degrees, little wind) on a challenging course. Fairways were fairly leaf free and most were dry without being frozen. Greens were in good shape. Looking forward to playing here again.
Fall on Heather Hill.
Played 18 holes in 3 hours by myself with a cart for a great price of $18 thru Golfnow. Shot an 81, my best round all year. The course was in good shape althouth there were a lot of leaves in the rough. Will return next year for sure.
It's a hacker course
