Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Michigan (2024 #8)
Reviews
Great track
Course played really well, it was challenging but also for any level. Greens were very challenging but rolled true.
Solid Course Built in Two Phases
Course was built in two phases: front 9 was built before 1930 and the back 9 was built in the 70s. It appears there are 7 original greens left with the sixth greens still present short of current green but turned to fairway. The original greens on the front 9 were the highlight of the course and worth the trip.
The holes across the street 12 through 16 are newer and were built on swampy terrain. Greens are much larger and the holes a little more open.
Great Open Looks
A course that is fair but will challenge every level player. The greens roll true and have some sneaky placements that can make your knees buckle. Bring your wedge game. Sand and deep rough on every hole. Even scratch players will be looking for places to bail out. Recommended for all levels. Staff is courteous, well informed, and helpful. Great menu & bar items. Don't forget to tip the cart guys for keeping everything sanitized and safe.
Nice up north course
This is a nice course and in good shape. Played on a Saturday afternoon in the summer and pace of play was very good. One proviso: the GolfNow price was the same as their regular rates. We actually paid less as a “senior” then the rate we were quoted on the app.
