Great shape
Had a wonderful round at The Meadows. Fairways mowed. Greens fast but I didn't feel like I was on the tour. Greens in beautiful shape. Fairways in good shape.
Fun links style course.
A fun and challenging links style course. Wind usually a factor in the afternoons.
Greens in good shape.
Wind....Red River Valley nemesis
If you're a local, you are used to this beast on any level. Links style courses and 20+ mph wind. That's what you get around here. The Meadows is probably the nicest place in the area to play your links though. Fun, open course. They take care of it very well so you wont have poor conditions. There are at least 3 two-tier greens that require some finesse. Water is used all over this course and you'll find yourself flirting with it numerous times. Some blind creeks that you don't see until you come up on them. I recommend it.....just realize that you're playing against the course and the wind!
Feels long, plays very open
The clubhouse and pro shop are very nice as you walk into them. Places this nice are usually at a resort and charge high prices. For what you pay you get a great bargain.
The course is very open with wide fairways but it feels like it is a long course. Perhaps it's because you play on several sides of the intersecting streets. I believe that you go through 3 underground tunnels from start to finish. The bev cart service was welcomed on this hot day too. When I played the tee boxes were really chewed up but the fairways and greens were in good playing shape.
I'd recommend some GPS in the carts as the only thing to improve on.
