Over-All review
Fun Course with reasonable challenges and well-tended fairways and tee boxes. Very Few Deal times available but, there was deal times. Management is there for the golfers. Driving range needs adjusting for distances but grounds are under repair right now. Show up on time and the Game play will be reflected as smooth.
Great Course in a Small town
Was doing work in Grand Forks, North Dakota and decided to take a chance and play there as it was about an hour away. Great decision as the course was in good shape, especially the greens. The staff was very friendly and the other golfers let me play through as I was a single, and everyone was very friendly on the golf course. For $40 on Golf now it was well worth the price and the drive! Highly recommend if you’re in the area to go golf there.
Nice conditions and challenging
The staff in the clubhouse were super friendly and the course was in great condition. The pace of play was excellent on the day we played possibly because it was a Monday, overcast, and only in the mid to upper 60’s. We finished in about 3-1/2 hours! Thief River winds through the course and there are several holes that you have to hit over the river!!! Fun but challenging.
Unfortunately, like almost all golf courses anywhere, women get no advantage as they age. They have to hit from the same tee if they’re 18 or 88. My 66 year old wife can hit about 120 yards (total after roll) on a good drive. One of the par 3’s on this course required her to carry just over 100 yards over the river. She came up about 3-4 feet short and the river ate her ball…lol. I’d be surprised if 5% of senior women could make it across the water.
Overall though we very much enjoyed this course.
Golf
$60 Per person for a cart fee that is crazy!!! There was no way I was going to pay $120 for two people to go golfing on a Saturday wanted to get a cart but he wanted to charge me $60 per person for the cart that’s ridiculous!
Great Course with Friendly Staff
I was the only person to book a round through the Golf Now app today. Manager was very friendly and excited that I booked it through GN as they’re just getting set up with it.
The course was in pretty good shape given the amount of snow that has melted here in the past few weeks. I was very surprised at how little standing water there was around the course. Tee boxes weren’t too wet. Fairways were in good shape. Not a whole lot of hazards which is great to me!
The greens were a little slow for most people, but were just perfect for me. I like greens that play a little slow as I tend to launch balls off of the faster greens. Lol
The pace of play was honestly just right for me. I had a threesome in front of me and a double behind me and we were all locked in on pace. Never had to wait and never felt rushed. Pace of play gets 5 stars from me!
Driving Range was good for warming up. A large bag was like $4.
All in all, I enjoyed myself and I look forward to spending a few more afternoons out there.
Was 48 degrees in middle of June!
Actually played this course back several years ago on a windy, cold summer June day (in the 40s) - we actually bought sweatshirts from the local Walmart to wear since we didn't bring warm clothes. The course is your typical Small town America course. Very average and nothing memorable, but at least the town has a place to play!
