Reviews
Hidden Gem in Northern Minnesota
Great Track
It is a great layout with good doglegs and great elevation changes.
Par 5's #4 Downhill-up-downhill dogleg right
#9 Dogleg Right down hill at the turn
#10 Dogleg Left
#15 Uphill down hill dogleg left across marsh and right side and back of green guarded by a pond
Par 4's #3 short hill par three before the teeth of #5,6,8
Two dogleg right before you finish with dogleg left on 8. 12 a great dogleg left up the hill. 13 is short dogleg left down and up where your drive lands and slings to the left. #17 is tight short hole with pond/creek guarding the front and around the left side. Great Finishing hole with a down hill dogleg left with a pond on left. Long narrow green. Par 3's #2 is about 200 from back tees, #7 great hole with multiply tee locations. #11 another long 3 Par with OB left and finish with a downhill 180 yarder
It is a must play if you live in ND, Minn, Iowa or Wisc.

Best Golf Course Outside of Brainerd Courses
Played this golf course 3 days straight over July 4th holiday weekend 2017 and conditions were a 10 for fairways, greens, and weather. Challenging, walkable with some elevation changes, plenty of "jail" pines to avoid, and views of Lake Bemidji. Greens can be extreme sloping from back to front so stay below the hole especially on 1 and 12! Nice halfway house hot dog stand near 5 / 12 tee boxes. Friendly staff, low key and Minnesota nice folks. We got a hole behind and they just said try to catch up as long as not making those behind us wait. Good range and practice area close to 1st tee box. Good value for the price. I'd say you'd need to travel to Brainerd or Detroit Lakes, MN to get as good a golfing experience.
Beautiful lakeside course
I have played this course 3 summers in a row on a family trip to the Bemidji area. It is generally a green, lush course with fairways surrounded by tall pines on each side. The course was redesigned recently, but it still has the feeling of a classically-designed course--a few long par 4s, some short par 4s, reachable par 5s, undulating greens with some severe slope (how greens were designed before everyone ran 11 on the Stimpmenter), the requirement for fades and draws, and no houses along the course. The tee boxes are next to the previous hole. The wind is tricky off the lake and the pines sometimes make it difficult to discern what the wind will do when the ball is airborne (the par 3 7th seems to always get me)
The driving range is nice and a great little short game practice area next to the first tee.
I paid $50 for 18 holes and a total of $71 with taxes and a cart and the locals consider it too expensive. The course was a little dry this year so the bounces and rolls were markedly different, but this was a treat to play
