The king of Prince Edward Island golf courses: The Links at Crowbush Cove

MORELL, Prince Edward Island, Canada -- Opening to rave reviews in 1994, The Links at Crowbush Cove is a tough test in a beautiful setting.

At just under 7,000 yards long, it becomes especially tough in breezy conditions, which is normal most of the time. With more than a third of the golf course along the coastline, it's especially susceptible to the elements, which also make it incredibly beautiful.

A mixture of three different styles of golf -- woodlands, wetlands and dunes -- the course was designed by Thomas McBroom of Toronto. Since then, Crowbush Cove has hosted numerous professional tournaments, including a Canadian Tour event that had to be stopped because the wind was blowing so hard (balls were actually moving uphill on some greens). The course also played host to a skins game in 1998 with the likes of John Daly, Mark O'Meara, Fred Couples and Canadian Mike Weir. Daly famously drove golf balls off the 17th green toward the ocean.
