Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta

My first and maybe my only time playing on this course. Good location and i am glad I booked it thru GP. Staff offered discount off the bat for my companion. Not a busy

day so I played less than 4 hours. Elevation and layout is great. I broke 80 for the first time and in a great course.

I didn't realize the course was in bad shape. Not becauseit rained the night before. Only front 9 was playable. Course is not well maintained. Not all amenities were available, even the range. My first time and wont go back.

The Nicklaus course is a bear! :) The greens were excellent, difficult but fair. The rough is intense!I should have moved up a set of tees.

Everything was excellent, only that we have to play the back 9 without flags since the staff withdraws them at 4:30, even though the course close at 7:00 pm

This was the 6th course we played while in Puerto Vallarta.It was by far the cheapest, but it was a pleasant surprise. Course was in very good shape, They supplied us with ice and water, which didn't happen on a course we played over $200 to play. Took our clubs to the car for us. It is in the middle of the city, tons of palm trees, very scenic. It was well worth the $33 we paid after all our Golf Now discounts.

The course is in need of some TLC. The fairways were brown and the rough was completely unmowed. A ball that rolled just off the fairway could only be found if you were standing on top of it. In general, it he course appeared unkept. Were told later that a mower needed to be repaired.

Nicklaus had slightly more character than weiskoff but both course are excellent

Pace of greens could have been a bit faster similar to weiskoff but still rolled well

This golf complex and the two courses are the best in the area.

I was the 1st morning tee time after an overnight rain and the bunkers were not turned over For the cost bunkers should have been ready to play

I played after an overnight rain and I was the 1st morning tee time, with that I would say the buckets were not clean but still playable.

Maybe just bad time of the year. Only able to play back nine since front nine were under construction. Maybe only offer a price for 9 holes instead of charging full price for 9 holes twice? Greens were good. Fairways pretty watery and muddy but it had been raining a lot past few nights. Service was great. No one else golfing but probably due to price

Overall great course. Greens had been punched and almost fully recovered.

Arrived and was told that only 9 holes were available The front 9 was closed. They said because I booked through golf now.com that they would not honor any discount. If I had booked directly with them I would only pay $75 due to condition. We will obviously look at booking direct with the course going forward to avoid being disappointed and overcharged.

Worth the $80 fee during May-August . But I would not pay the winter fees of over $160. Challenging course with plenty of water. Bring extra golf balls.

They offer caddies if you want to hire one.
