About Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta
Located on beautiful Banderas Bay, Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta are two well-known all-inclusive resorts that offer a wide variety of amenities for every type of traveler. Because they’re sister properties under the same ownership, guests can enjoy luxury suites with garden, golf course, or ocean views at either location, along with transportation and access to amenities at both resorts. Casa Velas is an adults-only resort that offers a peaceful, upscale atmosphere with three restaurants and bars, several pools and Jacuzzis with concierge service and VIP access to the exclusive Táu Beach Club. Guests can unwind at the world-class luxury spa, which features treatments and hydrotherapy circuits, or stay active with swimming, tennis, beach volleyball and a full fitness center. Right next door, Velas Vallarta is a family-friendly resort with various restaurants, daily buffets and gourmet dining options, along with fully stocked minibars. Guests can stroll through lush tropical gardens, relax on the beach, swim in one of the three pools, or enjoy a game of tennis or basketball. There’s also a Kids’ Club with fun, supervised activities designed just for younger guests. Golfers staying at either resort have access to two nearby clubs. Marina Vallarta Club de Golf, designed by Joe Finger adjacent to Casa Velas, is an 18-hole course that offers incredible views of the Sierra Madre mountains, Banderas Bay and the tropical coastline. A half-hour cab ride away, Vista Vallarta Golf Club features two 18-hole championship courses, one by Jack Nicklaus and one by Tom Weiskopf. The Nicklaus course sits at a higher elevation and offers panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta, the marina and the bay, while the Weiskopf course winds through jungle, ravines and creeks for a more rugged, scenic round.Facts

Excellent
The Weiskopf course is a great track with some challenging holes. Lots of FUN.
Far too much money for what you get.
Paid over $150 usd for the round. Not that good a course for that money.
Likely won’t go back.
Tough course in excellent condition
Very challenging course due to all the water and the very thick rough. Fun layout and the fairways and greens were in perfect condition. Can play a little slow due to Vacation golfers who are just out there hacking around as fivesomes or six Somes. I read some reviews that said it was not too tough but it is! Fun layout would love to play again
Better than Expected
Many of previous complaints seem a little severe. Lots of Crocodile signs on course informing patrons. Construction on the course is very minor now. Some minor water damage on fairways that we played as GUR. Staff was friendly. Course had a great layout with Bermuda grass thru out. Would have no problem recommending this course to others. Gerry “chicken little” was our caddie and he was excellent.
Great course excellent price through GN.
Beautiful location surrounded by green jungle. Great fairways, excellent greens. Food n drink service are always there for you. Bring your glove n balls, a little pricey there but otherwise great time golfing.
We fought the course, and the course won!
This really is a wonderful destination. The course is challenging, especially with the lost distance due to the heat and humidity and elevation, but that is unavoidable and provided plenty of challenge for my brother and I.
The staff were so lovely, and the range and practice area is immaculate. This place definitely understands hospitality and treated us well. I think we were the only people out on the course basically, and it was nice to play at our own pace and enjoy the surrounding views.
We would return, and I’d like to shake anyone’s hand that can get around this place even!
Gorgeous Tropical Jungle Mountain Course
Our first time, beautiful course. Challenging layout. Bunkers were a mess, 1st hole green was under repair; greens weren’t at their best - it’s low rainy season. That said, fairways were in amazing shape. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Great driving range and practice area. Bring bug spray, the course has creeks, ravines and plenty of our balls after today 🤪
Great scenery, rough greens
The views around this course are absolutely gorgeous. Only thing that takes this rating down a good amount were the conditions of the greens. The greenskeeper did mention that they were dealing with a pest disease which was the reason for the poor quality greens; however, it would have been appreciated to have been notified about this sometime before our tee time.
Weiskopf Course
It is rainy season in Puerto Vallarta. In fact, it rained the night before I played. Even though it rained the night before, it was not cart path only. The course was not saturated with water. Frankly, I was surprised the course was in immaculate shape, given all the rain over several days. I guess bottom line, don’t let the rainy season deter you from playing at Vista Vallarta.
