Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta

One of my favorite courses. Most holes are unique in design. Not too long but deceptively difficult to avoid a double bogey (or two!). More fun than sister Nicklaus Course. Both have excellent practice facilities. Well worth the trip up into the mountains!!

You cannot relax and take any hole for granted. Danger lurks in every fairway and surrounding each green (I’m not referring to the crocodiles!). Greens are relatively small and well bunkered. There is enough water to claim a ball or two. So even though the course distance is not daunting, I challenge most readers to try to break 80 on this course!

I bought a michelada around the 7 hole the price was 95 pesos and i bought another one at 12 hole, my surprise was that the cart beverage lady said was 115, I asked why ahe told me that her peer who attend the front 9 holes charge me wrong price. It’s not the 20 pesos which is 1 dollar. But create confusion in the service and looka like they charge what ever they want.

But the club is great, the aervice great….

Probably the most overpriced golf course I have ever played.

We have been golfing here for over 20 years every year. I was surprised to see how much it cost this time. Much more than previously. The golf cart were dirty too. The food is amazing. A little give-and-take and it turns out to be a nice day

We have played this course for over 8 years. Course knowledge helps a great deal. There are loads of bunkers in the fairways and around the greens. The greens are a bit inconsistent, however the course installed a new type of grass on the back nine (and presumably will do the same with the front nine by next year), which is a big improvement. We love seeing all of the wildlife around the course. We will play this course again!

Incredible facility with great warm up area. Got lucky and played during a large pro-am tournament. Conditions were awesome. Played once before and was even better. A good test of golf with some picturesque holes. Mooi Buen!

I have no idea who is writing reviews for this course… certainly sounds like paid bots.

This course is a very poorly conditioned municipal golf course, at best.

Far more value to be had playing any other golf course in PV.

Nice course. Caddie not mandatory but wanted one and none available.

So disappointed...no crocs! Only iguana. Lots of water water water. Glad played with local guy who knew how to traverse this course while golfing and driving cart.

Hot and humid and lots of mosquitoes. This watery course tougher than Nayar and Vidanta. Condition not as good as those 2 but ok.

Our experience was excellent - two days ago we were charged for water both at Snack Shack as we began our round and also by the cart girl on the course. Today we were not - much appreciated!!! In this hot environment - plenty of cold water is a must for the players.

Course is always in great condition (for a Mexican course) and pace of play great. Marshall came around to check on us now and then.

Will play again.

Water and face cloths should be provided at no charge and without asking

Some greens and traps a little rough but all in all very good for the start of the season.

Course was in great shape, tee’d off at 10am with absolutely no one in front of us. We did have a group catch up to us by hole16 but they were nice and easy going. We did lose a lot of balls even sometimes just off the fairway so be prepared to search or call of the search for balls. Found it interesting that all the looking we did for our balls we didn’t find any others balls left behind. The course had amazing views with great photo ops. I just so happened to record a shot on hole 8 which was one of the most senic holes on the course. Overall amazing course and would love to play again someday.
