I really enjoy this course. The more I play it the more I like it. It has a lot of challenge with water and sand, the greens are a good challenge and well watered and the practice area is very nice with new high quality balls. I like the breeze that blows in from the ocean and keeps one cool on the first 5 holes and sometimes more holes in spite of the temperature being 81 to 84. However, my friends complained that the sand traps need a lot more sand (I agree with that), that the fairways are often too dry (I don't notice that) and that staff should be spending more time cleaning up weeds and grass growing too tall in places. In other words, they think it is a little "rough around the edges" for a quality and quite expensive golf course considering the low cost of labor in Mexico.

Looking for a break from the bus loads of plodding "golf tourists" at my home course (to remain unnamed), I sought refuge at Marina Vallarta. I am glad I did. We teed off at 2PM, joined by a twosome, and despite it appearing that the course would be full in front of us as well as behind, we didn't see much traffic all afternoon. Finished in less than 4 hours, greens were very nice, fairways fine, only one crocodile was falsely accused of stealing a tee shot. A lovely afternoon had by all, followed by drinks at nearby bar Chappy's. Highly recommend.

Loved this challenging course in the hills above the city of Puerto Vallarta. Well maintained. Friendly staff. This is not a course for beginners. Take a caddie with you if you are playing the Nicklaus course for the first time. At $20 USD pp it's well worth it.

Gorgeous course. The mountains in the background was a constant eye candy.. Many bunkers and its fair share of ravines...My wife rode along and took many pictures....

Don’t let the modest length fool you. It’s plenty of golf course.

Very fun to play, you do lose quite a few balls in the water so take some from the driving range lol

Great layout that was in good condition. I always love playing this course. Lots of water and we’ll bunkered makes the course play tougher than it’s yardage would suggest. Greens were very good and rolling at about 10/11 the day that we played.

It did have some dry areas on the fairways but you could tell that the course has been watering so I am thinking that things should get greener soon.

Great staff experience and the caddy (Nicho) was excellent and did a good job reading the greens..

We found the pricing to be high this year but it looks like all the courses in the area have raised their prices considerably since last year.
