My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Excelent course for the money.
Had alot if fun and played this ciurse twice in the last werk. Very player friendly and knoledgable staff. Caddy totally worth the money.
Caddies were great!
I have played twice this week and both the caddies were fantastic. Daniel Was both really knowledgable about the golf swing and incredibly helpful as well we were playing as a single and he navigated the course and we charged all over the place and avoided back up and played in just over 2 hours!!
Convenient and most economical
My girlfriend and I stayed at Vidanta and had planned to golf while here. We are both mid/high handicappers. This course offered the best value for us. Nothing special about the course. Fairways are very forgiving. Bunker sand was kind of gritty. Greens were sandy or furry. We had to use a forecaddy who was a great guy (ask for Gabriel). He offered putting reads and was a huge help just navigating the cart path which was not always obvious. Not sure the forecaddy was worth the expense but that is a part of the deal. We live in Oregon so we were just appreciative of dry warm golf. If you want Pebble Beach not your course, but if you want to enjoy some weather and hack it up like me…it was pretty darn good.
Played this course after shorter easier Nayar. Good idea to use Nayar as warmup for this longer more difficult course. Loved having excellent caddie. 1st day played Nayar, here 2nd, and 3rd day played Marina. Lucky choices and sequences as each one became more challenging.
Btw, if you buy from refreshment cart, do get something for your caddie.
Forward ladies tees provide good way to ease into playing in PV's hot humid weather. Fun to see iguana. Always enjoy having a caddie. PV caddies are very reasonable and good. Mosquitoes!
BTW, I am 84 yrs young, health handicapped woman who loves to golf (solo or "new friends") and traveling around the world to play amazing beautiful golf parks.
Bad experience
First, if you are not aware, it is a long distance to the pro shop, a cart takes us there, then we take a cart and go to the golf course which is far away. Allow time.
We were very disappointed because they forced us to have a caddy with us, without warning.
It’s not mentioned on their website. Additional $70 for Caddy.
The caddy did not speak English and hung on to our cart without introducing himself, I could not understand anything he was saying.
A must play while in PV
Of course you want to play this along with all the others in the area, but this being the PGA mexican Open track give you a idea once played how it looks on TV in Feb championship game
Nice course but pain in the butt getting in and out
The course is beautiful. Golfed the first 12 holes in 2 hours and then the last 6 holes also in 2 hours with two groups of women ahead slow as anything and wouldn’t let anyone through. Leave yourself an extra hour at least to get in and out of the place, it’s a bit of a nightmare. There is a drop off and then you need to wait for a shuttle which was 35 minute wait and then 10 minutes to the pro shop. Same coming back.
Excellent golf properties at Vidanta
Vacation rounds at Vidanta and played both the Greg Norman and Nayar courses (we did not stay on the Vidanta property).
Norman course was definitely the more difficult of the 2 with a more "tournament style" feel on the layout and scenery. Unfortunately they had recently punched the greens which distracted from an exceptional golf course but probably helped keep putts on the greens :)
Highly recommend grabbing a round on Golf Now as pricing for a hot deal was exceptional!
Caddy is required and absolutely necessary to be able to navigate the property acreage at Vidanta... we had Luis our first round and requested him again for our second :)
Our only "issue" was the lack of amenities on the course - restrooms, water stations, and frequency of the beverage cart for snacks and refills :)
If not staying on the Vidanta property, do plan ahead to give yourself enough time to get to the clubhouse and check in etc. ahead of tee time. If coming by taxi/uber, there is a wait to be shuttled from the arrival area through the property to the clubhouse - wait could be >15min and then a good 10min ride to the clubhouse.
Excellent golf in Nuevo Vallarta area!
Vacation rounds at Vidanta and played both the Greg Norman and Nayar courses. Nayar was definitely the easier of the 2 with a more "resort style" feel on the layout and scenery.

Great Course, Greens Recently Cored
Great course in good condition, greens had been recently cored but didn’t affect play too much. You’ll need around 800 pesos for the tip for the caddie on top of the round price which was mandatory - but well worth it. Allow some extra time for parking / shuttle to check in - this took us over half an hour to had to push our tee time back to get some time at the range. Overall great day out.
Great Course - Excellent Caddy
This is a great course. Very challenging for the average amature golfer but still quite accessible. I am playing ilt again later this week. It was especially nice to have a great caddy with me on the round to help with course knowledge and reading the greens. He was awesome and the small additional charge was well worth it.
Amazing course!
My family was on vacation in Puerto Vallarta and found this course, highly recommended. We loved the course itself. Scenery was beautiful, course well maintained and our caddy was excellent and tailored his help to the needs of each player (some beginners, some advanced). The course is extremely spread out, so a cart is 100% necessary, but driving the trails was a part of the experience that we enjoyed immensely.
Our complaints about this particular visit were 1) the addresses provided by GolfNow were inaccurate and literally took us to a parking lot completely outside of the resort. We had to stop multiple times to ask for directions and ended up being late for our tee time (luckily they were able to move us later). 2) GolfNow doesn't explain HOW to get to the course itself, once you're inside the resort and this led to a ton of confusion and stress trying to find where to go. You have to park at a shuttle lot and they drive you to the course on a cart, you cannot park yourself at the course. 3) It's not clear on GolfNow that you need all cash to pay the caddy (fee and tip), so you need enough pesos to pay at the end. Luckily, there's an ATM in the pro shop. Would definitely play this coures again if we were in the area!
Vidanta Vallarta
As an outside guest, extra time is needed for remote parking and a shuttle to the pro shop. A caddie was also required which was a surprise and he required cash. The pace of play was very slow and hot (this time of year), even for resort play, which took over 5-hours. I chose not to play any of the other Vidanta courses for these reasons during my two week stay in the area.
Vidanta Slow Play
For a non-resort guests, plan a lot of time for shuttles to or from outside parking. Pace of play was very slow. Also, a caddie (cash only) was required but not needed for a resort course.
