Reviews
No bueno
the conditions of the course do not reflect the 160 USD fee. there are several municipal courses for half the price that are in much better shape. the caddies are friendly and frankly the better part of the round. the cart amenities lacked any alternatives. overall not a course I will return to
Not tough enough for PGA
We played this course twice recently and we do enjoy it. Getting into the place is like going on the jungle cruise in Disney. The golf course is very deep into the property with many different buildings for hotel and time share. The course itself is flat as a pancake. The fairways are incredibly wide and almost unmissable with next to no rough. They will need to narrow them by 50% and grow the rough or 30 under par will win the PGA tour event. The course is very well maintained the range and practice area are excellent. We initially avoided this place because of the mandatory caddy but both times our caddy was great, especially Daniel who was very good knowledgeable and spent a number of years caddying at Winged Foot. The course is good not great. Overall I recommend Vista Vallarta in PV as the number one place to golf. Much more interesting and also very well cared for. Handicaps 2 and 17 husband and wife
Vidanta :(
First time player here and played Nicklaus course which isn’t a full 18 holes apparently?! U replay holes to get 18 in?!? Who knew?! Was not advertised that way. Pace of play might be the worst I have seen anywhere and I have played in greater than 20 countries. Like worse than slow play am tour events and staff don’t seem to care. Having said that, caddy was funny and gracious (good job Luis). Unbelievable maze to get from front to drop off to then take you to proshop then finally out to the 1st hole. Seriously be 45 min early minimum!!! Won’t play here again, missed the mark for anyone not staying in Vidanta and even then quite questionable.
Vidanta Norman Course
What a threat day of golf. We were scheduled to tee off at 12:40pm . We arrived early and enjoyed the driving range facilities. There was nobody on the course so it took us only three hours to play 18. Our caddy , Francisco, was amazing. What a fun day. This course is getting ready to host the 2022 Mexican Open. Highly recommend this track
Over-priced 16 holes only!
$179 on “hot deal” for 16 which was not advertised on GolfNow and mandatory $60 caddy fee for someone that was a 25 handicap and gave terrible reads on the greens. Play the Norman course if you’re at Vidanta but be ware it’s $250.
Nayar course
Only 16 holes open so play 2 holes twice (Hurricane Nora). Greens in good shape but slow. Some water holes dried up. Overall was fun.
Ridiculous price for a course that should have been closed
Unfortunately, a hurricane caused half the course to be closed where we had to play some holes twice and other holes from the neighboring course. This was not disclosed until after payment was made. Greens were slow. Fairways were muddy. Rough was too rough. And no discounts offered at all. Overpriced for what you get, in my opinion.
Good course but overpriced
There aren't many good golf options in PVR, let alone options that are close by your resort. For a resort course, when you stay at the resort, you would think the course would offer resort guest discounts; also considering that October is considered the off season (it was hot, muggy, and the tee sheet was not even close to being full). They don't. Was able to get a cheaper rate through GolfNow; and even that wasn't cheap after adding in taxes, etc. Course conditions were good considering they were rebuilding from a recent hurricane. Greens were slow (8-9 speed). Caddie was friendly, as was the staff.
Increíble!
El único detalle es que no tiene baños en el campo, o al menos no los vimos, solamente un baño portátil
Good, but you did not mention only 9 holes open
The course is in excellent condition, however only 9 of the 18 holes were open. If you had specified that at the moment of reservation, we would have played another course.
Not as good as el tigre
Uber can drop you off but cannot pick up from the course for some strange reason. It is hard to find and not well sign posted with gps also missing the mark.
You must take a caddie although there was no green reading suggested nor for approach shots. No complimentary water bottles included which one might expect. I was a single and they did not ask me to join a group and as such I played through 2 groups
Golf course seemed to be placed as an afterthought to the entire facility with great distances between check in and tee off. Golf transport drive by me twice despite fact I was standing with clubs. Staff were friendly but think a little more education regarding guests would go a long way. As an example the cart driver indicated I could call Uber which I did but then they could not come on the property. Ok for resort guests I would think but not visitors. Play elsewhere.
Top notch
Holy smokes, great property. Great staff, better value than any other course in the region.
