My playing partner. 80 years old and still nailing his drives! Photo submitted by JettSpot on 07/11/2017
Mixed experience
The Course in good shape. The Nayar course wasn’t that difficult. Beautiful straight fairways, excellent greens and not many hazards. However, there is little signage and the holes don’t follow each other.
We got lost more than once. Staff could not have been more helpful but we shouldn’t have had to ask.
Really took away from the enjoyment of our game.
Play where the PGA tour plays
Had the opportunity to play the course where the Mexico Open is held, and was not disappointed. Beautiful course, perfect weather, excellent service, great course conditions, great caddie. An unforgettable experience!
The best course near Puerto Vallarta
We spend the winter in Mexico and there are 4 courses within 45 minutes that I play regularly. Prices are very high here compared to what we pay in the Chicago area and the conditions vary. Some of the courses are very dry and others have very slow greens. The Norman Course at Vidanta is, by far, the best conditioned course in the area. As the sight of the Mexico Open, it makes sense that there would be better conditions. The fairways are lush and the greens are true and roll well. The daily afternoon Golf Now prices and the 2:00 Hot Deals make this the best course option in the area. It's a challenge to get into Vidanta so plan extra 30 minutes to get to the driving range.
O was willing to pay 700 pesos for a Canny
No caddy available could not fiend hole 6 & 7 Vega’s to change kart it was running out of battery mainly for looking for hole 6&7 but course need to be rethink its layout and better signs
Really nice good greens
Beautiful Course
The Jack Nicklaus Course at Vista Vallarta is absolutely stunning but definitely not for the faint of heart. With crazy elevation changes, tight fairways, and fast greens, it’ll test every part of your game. Surrounded by lush jungle and rolling hills, it’s easily one of the most memorable rounds you’ll play in Mexico.
Greens very inconsistent
The bad news is once at Vidanta property, they really “get you” to have to take a taxi back if you are not staying in Nayarit. The prices have gone way up for that, not worth the trip there are all if you are in Jalisco.
Norman Course is just OK
Played this course 3 weeks after Mexico Open PGA event and was still in GREAT condition (as you would expect). The course itself is 'good' to just OK. There are some fun holes and some interesting shots, but in the grand scheme of things it's not that memorable of a course. If it were like an $80-100 round and really easy to get in and out of, I would recommend it. But honestly, going into and out of Vidanta is such a pain in the B, it's not worth it compared to going to play Vista Vallarta or HIguera (it takes nearly 40 minutes to get to the driving range from the time you get to the first gate at Vidanta). I will say, that not that many people play at Vidanta - especially in the afternoon - so you can kind of just fly through your round which is nice. But overall, Vidanta is too much hassle to play just an OK course. I'm not sure how they landed a PGA event here (except I think we all do know how probably).
Awesome course. Hard to find!
Awesome course, amazing amenities! Highly recommend it. Only issue i had is the address “golf now” gives you is incorrect and the GPS takes you to some back facility with no access; it took me over an hour to find the entrance. When I called pro shop they also gave me the same address that is listed on GolfNow so that was no help. It’s inside the main entrance to Vidanta Resort and there’s only one entrance with no signs so it’s tricky to find. Once you find it it’s great!
Best course in Puerto Vallarta area
Must play if traveling to PVR
Have played several times and the condition of the fairways and greens are exceptional
Caddies are friendly and very helpful
Not Worth It
Staff it welcoming or friendly. Felt like a mouse in a maze. So many winding paths and weird features. Course itself is nice but everything else about the place is truly odd.
Great golf
A couple of things that I don’t like my wife likes to come along and watch the fee for a rider is way over priced $50 us
The other is it’s hard getting in and out of the resort
