Fun course

Very challenging course and fun, our caddy (Jesus) was knowledgeable. Do yourself a favor and book through golf now. We paid much less than at the pro shop.

An OK golf experience

Received a low mid afternoon rate through Golf Now. We were never informed ahead of time or at the time of checking in that the course had been punched. That was not a big deal but not being informed was. All conditions were relatively good except too many fairways had dirt conditions...no grass. The bridge you have to cross to get to the course scared the C... out of me...afraid of heights, YIKES!

Only 9 holes open

Would be nice to know that only nine holes were open. We would not have booked this course if it would have been listed as only 9 holes open.

Very disappointed with golfnow for this booking

Waste of time and money

This course was advertised to us as a family friendly easy course, it has the gimmick of being able to enjoy night golfing and since we were staying at the resort we thought this would be a nice way to spend our evening. The first downside is they make you pay full price for sleeves of balls ($10USD), this was not told to us when we booked our game and we’re told everything would be included. Our room over looks the course and we watch staff members pull wheelbarrows of balls out of the water traps daily yet the course refuses to sell singles.

This course forces you to hit over 60-90 yards of water on every hole, and if you over shoot by 20 yards or under shoot by 20 yards you will end up in the water. Me and my wife are casual golfers and we ended up walking off the course by hole 5 because we hit our balls 20 yards over the holes and lost them forever. Their solution was to just fork up the cash for more balls when they are already over charging to play the course.

Next they give you the worst golf bag ever made, it was falling apart when I got it, although minor it adds to the frustration of this course in general.

Don’t bother wasting your time or your money on this gimmick golf course.

Sounds like the person who wrote this review had a frustrating round of golf and resorted to blaming the issues on the course. Golf is not an easy sport - if a course says it’s family-friendly, it doesn’t mean that a non-golfer will be able to play it “well”. It simply means that anyone can go out on the course and play it.

The comment about buying balls is entirely false. Our friend that golfed with us bought a dozen of used golf balls for around $20. Of course a new sleeve of golf balls (3 in a sleeve) will cost about $10. Not many course sell single golf balls in the pro shop unless they are branded, vanity balls.

If you elect to use clubs and a bag supplied by the course, obviously the bag is going to be much smaller than a normal golf bag. You only need a couple of clubs for the entire course - no need to have a heavy duty bag to lug around the course.

I don’t mean to be rude, but this is not a fair review by any means. The course is immaculate for an executive course. Sure, there is a lot of water and the potential for lost balls, but that in no way should cause a poor course review due to the inability to keep your ball out of the water. Also, the statement pertaining to the high cost of balls is also inaccurate, as there are other cheaper options available.

Capitallizing on a name

I chose this course, because it was a Greg Norman Signature course. However, the name is where it ends. Once you got past direction signs to get you the 3 miles to the course on a golf cart. There was nothing else that said Greg Norman. Nothing in the Proshop showed Greg Norman or Jack Nicholas (another signature course on the property).

Most of the staff were very nice and greeted me with a smile. My cashier was having a bad day it seemed, he was a bit grumpy. haha

David my caddy was very knowledgeable of the course and very friendly. I would not of completed the round without him, literally. I started with 3 balls and lost 2 on the 1st water hazard. David was able to find a couple other balls along the way. Website stated there was a $25 mandatory caddy fee paid directly to the caddy, but when I gave David the fee he was very surprised and acted as if he didn't understand why I gave it to him.

The course itself was nice and in good condition for the season. Course was challenging for an below average golfer, but anyone else would score well on it. Lots of water and sand. Greens were very hard and fast. Course was clean and well kept. Played better courses in Las Vegas and NC, played worse courses in both places.

We booked the Nichols course and they put us on the “other course” very average. no amenities could not get a drink or food the whole round... We got to look at the other course looked like a good track people looked fed and watered. As for us... Suckville.

Decent course.

My friend and I used the GN app and got a hot deal to play this course. I would have been dissapointed to pay the full morning asking rate here. There was very little to indicate that Greg Norman had anything to do with this course. Course was in very good condition. Greens were not very receptive but they putted fairly true and they were quick. The cart gal and food delivery was excellent. Our Caddie was absolutely excellent. He worked very hard for us.

Fair course

Tough putting, very fast greens. Good value when using GolfNow hot deals. Paid $75 plus caddie. Not a $250 per person course.

Nice course

The whole Vidanta resort is very nice. The staff was friendly and the course was nice to play. The greens are extremely fast, even the caddie told me to aim short on every green because its very hard to go pin seeking and get a ball to stop. Some unique and fun holes to play though and the course was in good shape. Bunkers are maintained well and the caddies are very helpful. Caddie "tip" was $25 and the $135 GolfNow hot deal was still a little over priced for this course. I have play a lot of courses better for a lot less, but its a resort in Mexico with a big name (Greg Norman) attached to it. Pro shop had a couple nice things, but not as much as I expected, and also had no souvenir logo golf balls. I have never seen a course not have those...even a low end muni course for $20 has them.
