The Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace - Vidanta Puerto Penasco

The wind was low when we began at 7:30. It was howling by our finish at 11:00am. But totally worth it. We are tired and will sleep like babies tonight!

The course is gorgeous from tee to green. The tide was coming in and the clear blue water was like frosting on a cake. When in the area ... this is a 'Must Play'!

Most difficult course I have EVER played. Lost 25-30 balls first day. If you spray it, FORGET it ! Greens are SUPER FAST . if you don't loft it on green,it's gonna rolloff ( usually into a sand trap ). TONS o' Fun ! Played it the next 2 days, only lost 5-10 balls. Gotta keep it in play. Beautiful course, extremely challenging. Felt like I had the course to myself. Don't forget the sunblock !

Golf course was great and layout by the sea of Cortez was too good to be true. We had about 10 cars in the parking lot on a sunny Sunday afternoon. What can you ask for?

As for the service from the resort, you have better help at a gas station. Beverage cart saw us twice, which we could understand, as the course is very large, but they had nothing to provide. We asked for a sandwich or some crackers or even a candybar but they had 2 bags of chips. Okay skip the munchies. How about some soda pop or a sports drink? We ended up with a can of coke with Santa. This is February? I guess they don’t have much demand for coke.

At the turn, we went into the club house around 3pm and all you could hear was your breath. Kitchen was closed and nothing to purchase.

If you are wanting just golf, you are in luck. If want any other amenities, bring your own supply.

Three golf courses in Puerto Peñasco. This is the best, by far. Difficult course, pretty long even from the white tees (6,389)! The course plays long with many elevated greens and up slopes. Many of the holes are along the Sea of Cortez and wind is another factor when playing here. It is a fantastic layout and this course rivals any of the courses in Cabo. Nice restaurant, friendly staff and a must play course if you are in the area.

More views of water than any of the courses in Cabo. Difficult Nicklaus golf course in excellent condition. Great greens and wonderful topography make this a “must play”golf course.

I was on a road trip from San Diego to Phoenix when I remembered this course. Worth the diversion.

This Nicklaus golf course was in great shape. The cost to play was really great considering the many views of the Sea of Cortez and the significant number of holes running adjacent to the water. Will definitely be playing this course again!

One of the best courses I have ever played. What a beautiful course, in great condition and some of the nicest staff ever. 5 stars is not enough, Kudos Mr. Nicklaus. Can't wait to play it again.

Perfect playing conditions! All you can handle from the blue tees. Forget the black tees unless you can average 275 off the tee

EXCELLENT Course -- one of the best I have ever played.

A must play while you're visiting Rocky Point. The course is challenging with decent elevation changes. The right mix of par 3,4 and 5s. Beautiful course.

Beautiful course on the Sea of Cortez. My wife really liked it but I found it difficult and the course conditions to be inconsistent. I know it was 'out of season' but many of the fairways had been recently punched and we had multiple bare very muddy lies. It also appears they don't cut the grass on a regular basis as there were piles of clippings everywhere and the rough was punitive. Rough around bunkers was 10-12' deep.The greens were in excellent condition. Course did not play like a 'resort' course. Even from the white tees, I felt the course played very long. There are several holes on the Sea of Cortez which were beautiful. As a twosome, we played in 3 hours but when we went in for lunch at 11:30, we were told that the restaurant didn't open until noon. Unless I was staying at the Mayan Palace (which we weren't), I'm not sure I would play here again.
