The Nicklaus Design Course at Vidanta Puerto Penasco

Tee boxes are flat and have plenty of grass ✔️

Rough is lush but not 5 inches deep ✔️

Fairways are well maintained ✔️

Greens roll true ✔️

Bunkers have great sand and are well maintained ✔️

As expected with a Nicklaus course the layout is epic, however you will be penalized for a mediocre shot

so aim for the largest landing area off the tee and always the fat side of the green .

Oh and unless you have a 270 yd carry for number 12 DO NOT play the tips 🤣

Easily worth $150/250 for greens fee but thanks to GolfNow

I paid $38.50 plus 20 bux for my wife to ride along 🤩🤩🤩 in Dec.

The staff is beyond friendly and super helpful .

While Randy the cart guy wasn’t the prettiest cart girl he made awesome drinks

and drove all the way back to the restaurant to get us an amazing burrito that was the size of

two footballs and very tasty .

Normally and often I find a course over sells and under delivers, not here !

I’ll be back next year for a solid week 🤩

My 2 sons and I took a trip to Puerto Penasco and it was an Amazing experience! The golf course was in fantastic shape and the ocean views were gorgeous. We had a blast and it was affordable. Great Day!!

Course was beautiful and challenging. Windy coming off the ocean made it even more difficult. Make sure to bring plenty of your own food / drinks. Hardly any amenities around the course.

It is an amazing golf course, in excellent condition, incredible views, friendly staff, totally worth it. If you plan to be on Puerto Peñasco this is the golf course to play

I have often called Vidanta in Puerto Peńasco a the best kept secret in golf. This stunning 18 hole championship golf course is simply the best $50 you will spend on golf. Spectacular ocean front hikes and Mountain View’s nestled between desert landscapes and a luxury Hotel resort put this course in my top 5, all time best!

The staff is amazing! Angelica in the pro shop(inside the hotel lobby) always greets with a smile and friendly conversation. She is always a pleasure and I look forward to seeing her each time I visit.

The outside service staff are the best in the business!! Charlie, Randy, Sergio, and Humberto are always there to greet me when I arrive, quick with a round of beers on the course, and always a cool towel at the end of each round. I can’t say enough about this group of gentleman. Absolute pros!!

I will see you all again in September when I return😎

Great layout, holes near the gulf. Great condition as always.

Great location for a course with beach views throughout. Super deep rough and thick brush left little room for error. Grounds crew was mowing during our round so there were clippings pulled up all over but we managed. Still an excellent outing.

The course was not at all busy probably due to a storm system moving through. Did get a bit wet at the beginning but nothing to impact the round. The course is in very good shape with the exceptions of the greens. They were in very good shape but extremely SLOW. Like maybe 9 on the Stimp Meter. Could have been slower. If they could get the greens to 10.5 it would be much nicer.

The views of Gulf of California are absolutely amazing. Course is in great shape. I played 3 times during my stay and if the wind is blowing, add another 300 to 400 yards off the whites. Few holes are with the wind and it blows off the Gulf hard. Played a day with no wind and it was night and day. Well worth the trip. You have to check in at the hotel lobby before driving to the course. Probably shop isn't finished yet.

This course is fantastic, LONG, challenging, and so much fun. Fantastic weather, but I do wish there were other things nearby to experience. This place is an island surrounded by sand dunes. Beautifu, but all alone

The layout and design on the sea of California is a good course. However, the condition and how the course was manicured was really sub standard. The staff was not very accommodating & there was no club house @ the course. Won’t be back!
