Pace of play
Teed off at 2:40 and played 14 holes in 4 1/2 hours before it was pitch black. Pace of play was horrendous. 2 groups on every t box. Would expect better from a place like this especially at the rate they charge you. Wouldn’t recommend playing here unless you tee off early morning. Other than that good facility and course but the pace of play ruins all the fun.
Unfortunately Down Hill
Haven’t played Bayside in a few years because of the over the top rates and now I see why the rates have dramatically dropped. Cart people are terrible I loaded and unloaded 3 golf bags myself with no help. Tee boxes are dry and totally beat up. Fairways and greens are dry and in terrible shape. This courses definitely lost its luster and it’s a shame because we love the Signatures restaurants. Don’t understand why they let this course get so bad.
Best on the Shore
Simply the best track on the Eastern Shore. Difficult but fair and always in excellent condition year round.
Course needs on cart GPS
It's very challenging to play a course blind. For the money they charge there should be GPS on the carts. I had my personal GPS on me that told me yards to middle of the green. I would have benefited from on cart GPS to determine yards to hazards. Until they spend for on cart GPS I won't recommend or play again.
Bayside
Incredible course very challenging, very clear yardage needed to carry the many sand traps. Can’t wait to playi it again.
Dispite the rain, an excellent round
Overall a very good day on the course. Excellent playing conditions, beautiful course, some wildlife, and great views. We did get some rain but the course drained well and even after 1/4in of rain greens and fairways were playable with little or no ponding of water. Dinner at the Signatures restaurant was also an excellent experience. Will be playing here again!,
Very Disappointing
While the staff is very friendly the course was in poor condition. Sand traps were terrible. Soaking wet even though it had not rained in the last few days. The traps were rock hard and nearly impossible to play out from. Greens had not been rolled and the ball bounced around like it was rolling through a gravel parking lot. For the price of 120+ per person we expected something better. If we return to the area we will not be returning to this course.
First round with my son
Course was in good condition. Staff was friendly. Only criticism was that the scorecard didn’t include the layout of each hole. On holes where you couldn’t see the flag there was no way to know if and where the water was or where the green was located. We were just happy to be out of the house and on a course!
Great condition and excellent staff.
Course is well maintained and in pristine condition. Very scenic views of the bay, and abundant wildlife, including deer, fox, turkey and resident bald eagles.
Multiple sets of tees to match various levels of players.
Course damage
We have played this course the past few years. Very disappointed this year. Course suffered considerable damage and no one bothers to let you know in advance when scheduling via phone or during checking despite their high fees for the area. Fairways and Tee boxes in under par conditions. Areas around greens on some holes suspect. Construction in the area also and just not what one would expect for the price considering other courses we played in the area this week. Night and day conditions compared to last year at same time (Sept). Cart path only first four holes but damage is on other homes as well so no transparent on course damage to those not familiar with current status. Seems a discount would be appropriate given the damage and conditions. Bag drop and cart return staff were very personable. Overall, a very different experience from one year ago. Ask about conditions before booking given price. Consider Rum Point or Eagles Landing. Better conditions and price .
Poor condition
I've played this course many times and was shocked at what poor condition the course was in. The fairways were sloppy wet, the rough hadn't been mowed in weeks ( you couldn't find your ball a yard off the fairway) and the greens had been lightly punched. The bunkers were packed down and hadn't been raked.
We didn't see anyone working on the course the whole day. I am not sure if they have cut back on the staff or why there wasn't anyone working on the course.
Premium price for a course that no longer is in premium condition.
Great condition
A jack Nicklaus course. That is in amazing condition. It’s tough somplay the right tees. Some forced carries and weird layout holes I’d you don’t know course
Fabulous condition, good cart person and small shack on 11th hole. Highly recommend getting a late afternoon rate if you want to save a few
Dollars. Has a decent range too and a great bar at
The finish next to pro shop.
Slow play
Bayside, as usual, is worth the higher-than-average fees and is well maintained. However, our last round took over 5 hours. The three-some ahead of us was extremely slow. We saw NO on-course personnel whose job it was to help with such a situation. There is no need for a 5-hour round of golf.
