About Dothan National Golf Club and Hotel
The discovery of a natural hot spring in the 1960s inspired the birth of The Dotham National Golf Club & Hotel. Its hotel and golf course were built shortly afterward. The healing waters of the spring are heated and pumped into an indoor spa pool available only for guests. All the rooms and suites have been updated. Packages can include a breakfast buffet, breakfast and lunch or dinner, too. The 7,425-yard, par-73 course lined by pines has hosted the SEC Championships multiple times.Facts

Trash
Worst course in South Alabama. Greens are dead and course is awful. Do not come to this course. Play in your backyard you will enjoy it better.
Garbage
The greens are awful and some greens are dead. No starter and no tee times. It's a backyard no golf etiquette and nobody controlling the course. 6 playing on one hole, four golfers taking four carts, and nobody let's you play through. Worst golf course in South alabama.
Work to Do
Greens were in pretty rough shape. Course closed down the back 9 without notifying us but allowed us to play the front twice. $40 for a round here is laughable. The course needs to either decide to vastly improve the course and greens to make it worth full price or move the price point to a more appropriate $15-20 per round.
Second time around.
Second time playing here. They put a junior golf tourney out in front of us. We still finished in just over 4 hours. Course still wet from the big rain on Monday. Layout good. Price is right thru GN. Would like to play when course conditions improve.
First round in Alabama.
First time playing this course. Good layout. Nice mix of par 3s par4s and par 5s. Played 2 days after 6 inches of rain. Lots of wet areas. Greens were shaggy and I don't think they were mowed or new cups cut. Understandable. They were dealing with other pressing issues. Practice putting green was identical to on course conditions. Nice driving range.
We played as a twosome in 3 and a half hours. Not busy.
Course is easy to find and plenty of parking. Next time you pass through Dothan on your way to Florida plan to play. Good value for the money.
Return to Dothan National
I played here a year ago and really enjoyed it. Nothing changed. The layout has tough holes and some risk reward holes. The greens are faster than they look. The bunkers were in better shape this time.
I will be back
Great...as always!
Choice property and sophisticated course layout. Forward golf tees make for a leisurely round. I'm sure the back tees would present a whole another venue. Scenic views, friendly staff. Give it a go.
