No thanks!
Beautiful day for a round of golf. The only thing that could ruin it would be slow play, and that's what happened. The clubhouse allowed fivesomes, and they were on a blistering 5-6 hour pace of play. Playing thru simply put me in the midst of the same, so I tapped out at the turn. There wasn't a staff person in sight on the course to assist the slow play. I probably won't go back. If you have all day, enjoy. If not, look elsewhere.
Nice course
Great value for the money. Course is in good condition, little wet from all the rain. Greens are nice.
Great
Course was beautiful. Immaculate greens, some of the best I’ve ever played on. A nice open layout, doesn’t punish good misses. Some standing water on some holes, but understandable for all the rain we’ve had. Can’t ask for anything more from a public course, can’t wait to play the Lake Course!
Nice Course
The course is quite open and was a good change for my struggling game. We played the course and had the best.acore of the year even with a few holes I messed up on. The greens were as good as any I’ve played on all year. They were in great shape. I look forward to playing the course again.
Excellent golf outing
This is my first time playing the Lake Course at Goose Pond and it was a delightful experience.
The course is well laid out with some challenging holes. Lots of water and tough pin placements.
The course was in great condition considering all the rain we’ve had. Steven in the Pro Shop is an asset to the experience. Will certainly return!
Great Golf
This course is in excellent shape considering the rain we have had. Holes 1 and 2 are a little soggy but rest of course is fine. Greens in great shape for this early in year. Fairways coming in nice.
Beautiful day for a round of golf!
Had the afternoon off, took a drive in the sunshine to get in a round before dinner plans with friends. The course was not busy, but the pace of play was horrendous. And since there was no staff out on the course to keep things moving, it became a 6 hour round kind of pace. I left after 9 holes. I won't be back unless they address this issue by having a ranger/Marshall on the course.
Greens were phenomenal
Early in the year with the wettest winter in my time in N. Alabama, as expected some soggy spots, but the greens were phenomenal
Good round
Plantation Pointe is always fun and challenging.
The greens were excellent and the fairways were wet as was to be expected because of the heavy rains. However, it was a lovely round- as always!
A fun course to play
Still very wet but very playable and a fun course to play.
Winter play
To be completely honest, the weather lately has been cold and wet. With that said, the fairways where somewhat “hairy” and there was a lot of matted grass clippings all over; making for difficult shots in many areas. However the greens were in excellent condition and rolled true (sprayed green for asthetics). Tees were in good shape as well. Wasn’t a fan of how the tees were set up (we played white and they were playing long...210yd par 3, YIKES!).
Will definitely play again in the spring/summer though!
Great course.
The greens were great. Course was still really wet from all the rain, cart oath only. Great time.
Beauty on the Lake
These is an excellantly laid out tract with lake views on practically every hole and yet the wrap around lake is never an imposing hazard. It is always well maintained with perfectly rolling fast greens. This course is also one of the most playable in the area during wet months.
Awesome
Live the course lay out and really love the new greens
Perfect greens
Course was in excellent condition for winter and the greens were absolutely perfect.
One of my 2 favorite courses. The lake course is the other.
Wonderful Greens! Enjoyed entire course thoroughly!
If you want a challenge putting, then try The Lake course at Goose Pond. Perfectly smooth, a challenge to read but true, and a real challenge approach putting to that apple-basket. I'll be back regularly. Teeing grounds are all manicured. Fairways are in nice shape, few divots or imperfections. Rough was rough, and grabby [hated it], but all the more incentive to hit fairways. Frog hair and fringes were fair to chip from. Four sets of teeing grounds made it a reasonable challenge for any golfer of any skill. I had to restrict myself to the Blue Tee's, one up from the Champions Tee . . . at 67 I don't have the "girth" to hit it further than 240-250 necessary to play back. You'll enjoy it.
