Wonderful Greens! Enjoyed entire course thoroughly!
If you want a challenge putting, then try The Lake course at Goose Pond. Perfectly smooth, a challenge to read but true, and a real challenge approach putting to that apple-basket. I'll be back regularly. Teeing grounds are all manicured. Fairways are in nice shape, few divots or imperfections. Rough was rough, and grabby [hated it], but all the more incentive to hit fairways. Frog hair and fringes were fair to chip from. Four sets of teeing grounds made it a reasonable challenge for any golfer of any skill. I had to restrict myself to the Blue Tee's, one up from the Champions Tee . . . at 67 I don't have the "girth" to hit it further than 240-250 necessary to play back. You'll enjoy it.
Soggy...
It had rained all week so Course was pretty wet. Apparently doesn’t drain to well but we still had a good time.
Still a Great Course
Goosepond Lake Course was one of my first loves in golf, and I have been playing there for 25 years. This past round was my best ever there, but I do want to point out there the greens are quite dry and deceptively fast or slow, depending on the hole. There wasn't a lot of consistency. Otherwise, everything was in stellar shape as usual!!
Beautiful greens
Greens were wonderful (although I found them difficult to read). Fairways were nice. If you were off the fairway, expect to spend some time looking for your ball; difficult to see unless you are right over your ball.
Good experience
Hills, valleys, lakes, mountain views – all good – true greens – stayed at the resort campground next door.
Nice
Beautiful greens – wide fairways – a really good experience!
Course has improved over the past few years. Fairways are excellent. Greens are in very good shape.
First time
I travel around and enjoy playing new courses. This course was in good condition, liked the view it would probably nice in the fall especially since it so hot in July. The lay out of the course was nice. It was a two hour drive but well worth it. I will be back.
Golf with my dad
Course is in good shape. Greens, tees and fairways are in excellent shape. However, the sand traps are AWFUL. They are totally unplayable. We played on Tuesday. The course is closed for maintenance on Monday. Apparently, that does NOT include sand traps. Also, the course is priced at least 20 percent too high. This FACT may account for the lack of business.
Great course
Played here twice and I love its layout especially the par 3s. Definetly will be back and will be telling my friends about the pacey greens as well.
Great time!
My son and I got there an hour early to putt and just loosen up, but there weren’t many golfers there at that time so the staff let us go ahead and tee it up. Nice course and pretty wide open for the ones with power fades (slicers).
Great Shape
Greens are in the best shape I have seen them at this course. Overall the course is in great shape for the weather we have had recently.
Fantastic greens
The greens at the Point are always in great shape. There are two greens that are not kind to me (#10 and #12) due to their smallish size and/or the way they are laid out for your approach shot. This course is a great value round for the cost. The staff members are always friendly and accommodating. The course can be played fairly to your ability as you have 5 tee box options. This is a good place to play if you are struggling from the tee as it is very open.
Plenty of shots to choose from here
The course is in great shape, very forgiving and challenging at the same time. I'll definetly be booking here again and telling my friends about the goose as well.
Shot-makers course.
Lots of water on course. Most of it in play. Drive the ball long and strong to give yourself a chance at hitting greens in regulation. Lots of elevation change. Be thoughtful in club selection. Greens are big and tough to gage the break thereon. Pitch as close to cup as possible to give yourself a chance of making a put. The scenary on and around the course is beautiful. Make sure you look up and look around. Enjoy the day.
My favorite course
Great course for the average golfer. You get the quality of a high end course without the difficulty.
