Selective Rule Enforcement
Booked a hot deal with a buddy. One of our other buddies had plans get cancelled the night before the tee time so he decided he wanted to play last minute. Other two hot deal tee times have been booked so no luck for him. But we play there all the time and it’s not usually super crowded so we told him to call the pro shop the next morning and see if he could squeeze in. He calls and talked to Jackie. Jackie says sorry old buddy but they already have 4 and I can’t let 5 go off because we’re booked out until 12:30. Okay, no biggie, that was the expected response… BUT… we get to the course and hit the range and watch 2 groups of 5 tee off on the tee times directly in front of us. We go to the tee box and the other two that booked the hot deal didn’t show so we go ahead. Found out at the turn that they did check in but played on a different tee time. We play 2 holes before anyone tees off behind us. We play as a 2some behind 2 groups of 5 all day after we were told we couldn’t play as a 5some (which we didn’t ask to do) and got told one more person couldn’t come when there was all kinds of room on the course. They don’t even have a starter so they honestly don’t care how groups tee off. But to be told we couldn’t do something and then had to play behind 2 groups doing what we were told we couldn’t… that’s stupid and our round took 4 1/2 hours. Pic added so you could see what we were stuck behind all day
Love this course
Goose Pond - Plantation is always in excellent shape, and the value is unbeatable when finding a deal on GolfNow. My group thoroughly enjoyed our time playing.
Nice Course, First Time
Pretty nice course, better than I expected. Pretty interesting layout that is in good condition. Greens were a bit slow & grainy, but consistent with some character. There is a wide range of tee boxes which would make the course suitable for all levels.
Beware on #16 as there is a pond at the corner of the fairway over a hill - it’s a blind shot and you have no idea how far out it is…be nice to have a plate saying 220yds to pond (or whatever, from each tee.
Also, beware on #6, a Par 5 with a pond in front of green, mostly on right side. It’s not visible from the fairway, but there is a blue flag you can laser-shoot to make sure you lay back far enough…good hole, just got to know it’s there.
I’ll be back.
Great course
The course was in great shape. Greens about prefect, weather was great! One of my favorite courses to play.
plantation
Course is good shape, bunkers very nice. No carts available was not brought one, just told to go out back and find one that is on. Staff is not family friendly. My guess is they aren’t happy working there?
Solid Deal
Course is always in decent shape. Not a challenging layout, can spray it left and right and still be in play. Pace of play in the early morning is always great, usually finish in around 3hrs. No frills/extras but good value.
Good value on a hot deal
The greens were great and the pace was okay for an early morning tee time. The grass around the greens needed to be cut a little. It was tough chipping around the greens .
Fun little course
Had a great time playing goose pond plantation. Got a hot deal and it was worth it. Would be less impressed paying full $70 but <$40 was definitely worth it. Overall the course and greens were in great shape. I was playing by myself and pace was pretty good. Folks let me play thru where appropriate. Would def play here again if in the area.
Beautiful course just lacking amenities
Beautiful well maintained course with a good mix of par length. Just make sure you grab drinks before your round as they do not have any cart service.
Great Course
The course was in very good condition. The only issue is that the greens is they were recently sanded. But no issues with putting on them.
I would recommend this course to anyone.
