Top Notch
Hurricanes and staff have made this tract much more playable by removing wilderness trees. New greens are awesome as well. They are also the only course I have found with green dyed fairways. That is a welcome sight in winter.
Overpriced due to course conditions
Course as a whole was very dry with some extreme dried out areas. Greens ran very fast and most could not hold a shot. Ground crews removing foliage in several areas and the once attractive course looks so barren that some holes look unrecognizable.
Overpriced and lots of trees removed
If your going for lunch it’s nice but if your going for golf think again. This may have at one time been a beautiful golf course and ranked high but it is not anymore. It is overpriced the first thing it says on golfnow is it’s on a beautiful piece of property on the gulf of Mexico. Well the golf course has no view of any water but the hazards, the trees have been all ripped out in between the different fairways. Don’t waste your hundred bucks on this course very disappointed.
Nice course, great greens
The course layout and conditions were great. The pace of play was excruciating. Some self-absorbed group found a quasi-Ryder Cup thing took so long that we were left in the dark(literally). It's a resort course with old, slow folks and the aforementioned group tying up things. Too bad. It's a great course
Time of year lots of brown
Lots of brown turf, greens fast and course getting a lot of foliage removed
Amazing greens
Greens were fast but true, course was in amazing shape for late January. 3 hour 20 minutes for a round , never had to wait on a single tee box. Or fairway
Best in Gulf Shores area
Great course layout. Well maintained. Drains after rain exceptionally well and wildlife on the course is an added attraction.
A Great Course on the Alabama Gulf Coast!
This golf course was amazing and fun to play! A must play if you're in Alabama. The staff was very friendly, and the pro shop was great. I will be playing this course again in the near future.
Sand knats are rough. Do bring off spray
If I’m looking for complaints-green speeds were inconsistent. Tee boxes were uneven at times. Now that the bad stuff is out of the way. It was an absolutely beautiful course. Not at all intimidating. I do recommend eating before or plan to eat right after because there is no clubhouse visits at the turn as you don’t come to it.
Positive
The price was a bit high but the course itself was very nice. The extra care that a great course would take was not seen here. The edges were frayed with no color that helped its image. Between the uprights it was extremely cared for!
Tough Course
This course is very demanding and has a ton of undulations. There are not many flat spots in the fairways or on the greens. Its borderline ridiculous. I enjoyed playing it but its not an everyday course because it wears you out with the slopes and wierd lies. Great staff, great course layout, too tough. I'm glad i played it from the tips but too many other good courses out there for me.
Great course great staff
Beautiful course that is in great shape and very friendly and helpful staff. It is a very fair course that can challenge all levels but also is not to difficult or punish you to much for a bad shot. Greens are quick and very challenging, but they are big. Enjoyed our time here greatly!
Amazing Greens!
Hands down one of the greatest courses you’ll play.. period! Has a PGA feel, greens roll really fast and true, fairways are like hitting off a sponge and the views are awesome! You’ll probably see an alligator sunning somewhere on the course and depending on where the pins are you’ll cuss the greens as such as you’ll praise them.. (but in a good way) all in all, you’re crazy not to play if you’re within 30 minutes of it.
What a course!
Have been wanting to play Kiva Dunes for a long time. What a great course! Played in winds that were at least 35mph, wide fairways made tee ball very playable, putts were being blown all over the place. What a fun day. Quite the experience and would recommend this course to anyone. Can’t wait for the opportunity to play here again.
Great round
From the moment we got on property the staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
Course is in great shape. Greens were perfect and true.
