Kiva Dunes Golf Course

We enjoyed this course. The layout is challenging with a great mix of trees, sand and water features.

Golf Course was very pure. Greens where great. You cab nake putts.

Cart guys was very accommodating and friendly then we meet the started Andy one of the best I ever come across. We let a 2 some go ahead and on the third hole was blocked by a slow play 4 some. Took 4 holes to let us play through. Waited on every tee box. After didn’t hit a stop until 17 hole. Loved front 9 and back 9 a couple silly holes. Cost was a little over priced but course was in great shape.

I always enjoy playing Kiva Dunes. I just think it's a neat course. I've played with the Blue Angels flying overhead. I love seeing the alligators, I've seen the largest water moccasin ever on hole 17 years ago. Great memories. Folks there are typically super nice. I've been playing Kiva for over 30 years.

Here's what I don't like. I don't like being lied to by David. We didn't meet him when we arrived, but I did speak to him on the phone before reserving my tee time. I called specifically to understand course conditions, and I was specific with my questions about course condition. I went as far to ask multiple questions - even about whether there was any sanding of the greens. I understand that courses have to go through maintenance during the year. I get it. David told me everything was perfect. This was not the case. Would I have played anyway? Probably. But David lying to me directly on the phone - that's an F. And I consider it inexcusable.

So do I love the course? Yes. Do I think lying to me is ok. No. David lying to me brings down my rating of the course. And overshadows the great, friendly people that work there. This would be pretty much a 5 star rating across the board if it were not for David. Just be honest.

Enjoyed playing the course yesterday. Great course with a great layout. Price is a little high, just like the rest of the courses in the area.

Staff was absolutely amazing. Made it very enjoyable cart girl amazing. Very friendly. Saw her multiple times on the course. Course conditions as of May 2, 2026 impeccable fast greens large greens difficult slopes, perfect condition raked bunkers

100 out of 10 would play again. I could go on and on about how great this course is.

So, background. I moved here from the golf mecca called Arizona, so this review is based on my 20 plus years playing a lot of golf there on a lot of courses. The good… staff , clubhouse was cool, cart girl Rebecca, sand was good, greens held and were quick. The not so good, no gps or ice / water btls on cart, for $165 those items should be a no brainer. Course layout was ok , no real views or cool “signature “ holes. I also think yardage markers and directional signage could be better esp without gps. Bottom line for me .. this resort course would be just a bit above average in the Phoenix area esp in that price range . I also think that Craft Farms is a better option . It was fun just not memorable .

4 different groups were on hole 8. The foursome behind us called it quits after a 9 hole- almost 3 hour round. We stuck with it. We were unappreciative of the Marshall remarks about pace of play. We have played the course several times and never had an issue.

Definitely the nicest course within a 50 mile radius.

Practice facilities were pretty good. Range is limited to 260 yards.

Practice putting green is small, but not very many people are out there.

Looks like they have a second putting Green, which was not open.

The course was in good condition, greens were fairly fast.

I am a high handicapper but the course was open, and felt fair and enjoyable from the white tees.

Pace of play (Monday mid day) was ok, not great, not bad.

Played on vacation. The course was in great shape and the greens were tricky but fantastic.

The golf course itself was really nice, and the pace of play was great. The staff were wonderful — friendly and helpful throughout.

That said, a couple of things could use improvement. The tee boxes were pretty rough and could use some attention. The course markings also left something to be desired — better signage would go a long way.

Overall, an enjoyable day on the course. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives, and the staff alone make it worth a visit.

This is always my husband's favorite course when we are here for the winter months. Keep up the good work!
