Not worth the money
Played om 11/25 and had a 1.15 tee time. 3 groups at the tee box got us worried. And yes the pace of play was just horrible. Waiting for every shot. The course conditions were horrible. Every ball you hit had mud on it, no water to clean your balls, grass in the fairway too long and the greens were absolutely the slowest I have played in a long time. Downhill putts just stop and uphill putts you need to hammer.
I understand they just came out of overseeding but you cannot charge this green fee for these conditions and pace of play.
Greens
These greens continue to be an embarrassment to the game of golf. Time and time again, I give it another chance and it never fails, the greens are ridiculously slow. Putts downhill should not stop on the slope. Why on earth do you keep
Them so slow?
great staff, easy course
Much of the reason I say the course is "easy", is because of course design and maintenance. The course is WIDE, and the rough is ....short, real short. Hardly a chance of walking up to your ball and telling yourself that you can only hack it out 60 yards. Tough to lose a ball here - I lost one because of unfamiliarity, not knowing there was a pond behind a green. When you play a course for the first time and shoot a much lower score than average, it's an easy set-up. Staff was great, weather was great, the guy I played with was great.
A last resort
This was the o Ly course that had an opening for a threesome at the specific time we needed. I now know why.
Like all the other reviews... thin grass, greens like molasses, etc.
My real complaint is that they should have indicated the course conditions in advance. There is no way I would have paid $100 to play a course like this!!
Do NOT play Adobe Course- worst value in PHX
This is cheesy interior course with holes that are narrow and almost cross each other. We had oncoming players from the hole behind us hitting in our fairway several times. The course is flat, boring and an incredible rip of for $125. We booked at last minute and everything else was sold out. My friends tell me the other course at the Biltmore is better. Adobe sucks. Don't play it unless it's free and then don't expect a good value. You wished you paid to play a real golf course!
Stan
Ok so it was just coming out of overseed but they should not have been playing it. Grass very thin, mud on the ball on every shot, greens were terrible, muddy, and the sand pails were grown over so you could not help take care of the coarse even if you wanted to. Not even close to worth the money and I play here all the time. Might be ready in another month.
Great value and conditions
Course and especially the greens were in great shape. Place of play was 3:45 with 9:30 AM tee time.
Overall conditions
The course is not nice
The pace of play was so bad we quit after 9 holes
Okay course but...
The staff here was not particularly friendly and the communication was terrible. For instance, when we checked in nobody asked us if we wanted range balls so off we went to the range which is sort of out of the way, only to find out that you needed to get balls from the guy who checked you in. The GPS in the cart was not turned on and we couldn’t figure it out and the guy in the shop seemed put out that we couldn’t figure it out. Finally, there is no starter to keep things flowing at the first tee. Needlessly to say, there are hundreds of courses in AZ and don’t think we will be back. It is fun to look at all of the mansions around the course though!
Average course layout
It’s a challenging course with some long holes, but too many tee boxes are in the line of fire from previous hole approach shots. Pay attention. We almost got hit a few times. After a short par 3 someone drilled their tee shot into my wife’s golf bag while we teed off on the next hole - and it was only a slightly pulled tee shot.
Not Nearly Worth The Money
Played here late October 2020 which is normally the perfect time for courses in Arizona. Most courses have over-seeded and had time to let the course recover from the harsh summer. Not Biltmore! Charged $115 for the round (TPC Scottsdale $20 more for a similar tee time) and there were completely bare tee boxes on the front 9 with very rough and patchy greens throughout the round.
Seems as though they are showing further disregard for the course by packing it with players, pace of around 5 hours for reference.
Had i known the condition of the course I would’ve opted for Camelback or Phoenician. This is a very, very bad look for a club that has been held in a high regard by locals.
Not Quite as Expected
I'm sure the course USED to be lovely but it is no longer the course in the photos. Combine that with waiting several minutes on each and every hole, and you'll understand my less than positive review...
nice views
This course is over rated. I’ve played nicer courses for half the price ! I’ll never be back any time of year !!!
