Definitely cheap
Fairways are dirt. Honestly greens aren’t bad. Tee boxes are mid. Lotta blind tee shots. You get what you pay for
Place is a DUMP
This place isn’t worth it if it were free. Absolutely no fairways to speak of. Hit the ball where the fairways should be and it’s all hard pan, dead winter grass, and holes from being punched who knows when. Tee boxes are all junk. Hacked up, not mowed. Greens were at or just below average for time of year. That was the only plus to the course. Clubhouse had no AC at all. Went in to buy a bucket of range balls, $16.95….. what a joke!! Go somewhere else. Sad, this use to be a pretty decent course to play in the summer.
We're genuinely sorry to hear about your disappointing experience and appreciate your feedback on the conditions of the course and clubhouse. Your review helps us identify areas for improvement, and we hope to earn back your trust in the future.
Scorched Earth
There was no grass on this course other than the tee boxes and greens. We will not be coming back.

Dead
Course was dead on the fairways. It wasn't worth the $50 fee. I'd play for $20 because your ball does run forever in those conditions which can be fun on the par 5's.

No grass on fairways
Decided to try AZ Golf Resort after not playing there for many years and they had openings on Sat morning. I was shocked at how poor the conditions were and realized this was why they probably had openings for early Sat. The tee boxes and greens were nice overall but the fairways were all but dead from no water. Came to learn that they don’t have most of their water pumps working so they let the fairways die basically and keep the greens and tee boxes watered only. They should be ashamed for charging $57 for that track. The staff was friendly and I feel they are in a bad position due to how the owners have let the place go.
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience and the condition of our fairways due to our current water pump issues. Thank you for acknowledging our friendly staff; we appreciate your feedback and understand your frustrations.
Marginal at best.
Greens remain in good shape and are above average for speed. Fairways are brown and dirt patches. Aeration holes present; no summer grass.

Dead grass
I wouldn't play here again even if it was free. Staff told us the water pumps went out so only the greens have grass. The rest is all dead grass and gravel

Patience getting thin
Trying to like this course again but getting harder to do.
-cart kid when we arrived never looked up from his phone. Every golfer took their own cart leaving very few. He never moved until some guy in a black corvette backed in
-no starter so was a free for all on first tee. As many singles as groups of six on course.
-saw beverage cart once as she drive past us on third hole. We had a 10am tee so could have used something
-great day for long drives. Course was bone dry
-to end day, there were easily 30 empty carts with one kid running to get caught up.
-positive note: there were fewer shady looking people on tee boxes looking through carts as we tee’d off
need new owner
please sell this property to someone who will restore it, current owner should be jailed .
Sad Reminder of Underfunded Properties
I’ve been a resident of Mesa since 1995. AZ Golf Resort used to be quite a gem in the East Valley. Wow, what a difference a few decades make. I realize the ownership has changed several times over the years, and I’m not sure who owns it now, but it’s really in sad shape. Dried out fairways when we haven’t even had really hot weather yet is just… sad. The decline has been steady over the last several years, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. The staff is still friendly enough, so it’s not a total loss, but conditions were well below what should be expected at the end of May in AZ.
We're truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and the state of the golf course; we appreciate your honest feedback and are committed to making improvements. Thank you for acknowledging our friendly staff as we work to restore the course.
Don't ay during summer

“Could have been better”
Course lacked tee time coordination and ranger!!
There were a couple of single players ahead of us which slowed the pace to almost 5 hours!!! Waited at every tee as the second in line!!!
The club house should have buddied up players to make at least twosomes!!
